Jemma smiled at Gabrielle, it was nice talking to her again. They had had a good friendship for a few years now and she liked how Gabrielle wasn't afraid to tell the truth or give her opinion. So many people are too cautious around people, especially with her she noticed - whether it was her age, the fact she was a Seer or something else, she had no idea. Which was unusual for her.
"Yeah, well the Department of Mysteries is wishful thinking, I know. But something other than a secretary would be nice. I think I'm a bit old for an Auror, and have never had any longing to work with magical creatures. I'm just hoping something will open up somewhere that I like the look of, and being a secretary often means I get the news of openings first, which is quite handy." Jemma paused for breath, trying to explain herself.
"I don't think I'd like to work around Azkaban really. The Dementors kind of freak me out, and it's not solitude I'm necessarily seeking, just a job I'd enjoy." she added.
Jemma laughed at the thought of her having a sudden injection of bravery. She had fought in the past where necessary, but she wan't really a brave person, truth be told.
"No injection of bravery, this time. I had got the sense that they'd moved on from me. Either given up, or found another Seer, or something of the sorts. It's hard to explain really, it's a Seer thing. I just kind of knew it was safe. Or at least, safer. Plus working at the Ministry, not many Death Eaters would try to kidnap me here really and as far as I'm aware they don't know where I live. There are many charms to stop them entering my building there, so I think I'm alright for the moment." she told Gabrielle about her senses, though it really was hard to explain to someone. Seers knew things and got feelings, that only other Seers could really understand. It was times like these that she wished she had a friend who was a Seer, someone she could talk to about these things.
"Oh Gabrielle, I'm sorry to hear that." Jemma immediately said. She knew that people bringing up painful memories like that from the past would be horrible. Talking about anything to do with her mother was...well, hard, she thought, pushing that thought aside. She didn't want to go there, not now, though she had a feeling she would at some point.
"I hope the investigation is over soon." she simply said, knowing there wasn't much she could say to her after that. "At least you'll get to travel to France a fair bit to visit family." she added, trying to look on the bright side, however hard it may be.
