If it had been Nemo’s intention to deny the temptation that had risen within him with his promotion to reap hilarious revenge on his rivals, Jack had offered him little strength. On the contrary; she had presented him with an abundance of worthy weapons, including but not limited to fireworks. And the awe that accompanied Nemo’s knowledge of Jack’s skill with explosives had yet expire. Thus, the dastardly duo had set off into the depths of Knockturn Alley during their targets’ evening rounds, their pockets full of everything a prankster could ever desire.
Nemo halted at the command on Jack’s lifted hand and fell in line behind her to flatten his back against the adjacent wall. He grinned wickedly and his electric eyes lit in response to his companion’s inquiry. An expression of excitement that was hastily replaced by a set, blank expression when the familiar prickle of danger along the back of his neck drew forth the more tactical of Nemo’s personalities. He followed Jack’s gaze to the Dark Mark above and withdrew his wand with a practiced slide, before pushing off of the wall to sprint alongside Jack.
He was greeted with the sickly sight of two familiar forms lying limp across the cobblestone, but he was not permitted a moment of realization as a cold tremor wracked his body, before spells were being fired. Nemo followed suit with a protection spell cast before Jack, despite the protests he would likely receive from her, “Protego!” He spared the pair of Death Eaters a quick glance, committing each to memory whilst he redirected his wand to aim at the nearest of the two. “Incarcerous” he breathed as he gave his wand a fluent roll, and from its tip a crackling hex erupted.
“Jack!” He called, opting for the shorted of her aliases for the sake of efficiency as he aimed his wand at the second of the Death Eaters to step forth; she who stood at the farthest end of alley. “Holy shit,” He cursed as he spun out of the path of an advancing Unforgivable and held his wand upward once more. Stupify, the spell sparked to life. “Ten Fingers!” Nemo requested of Jack, putting faith in her memory of the evening they had lit the Leaky Cauldron with her fireworks.
They were in need of a distraction.
