Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Sharing of Logic - Page 3 Empty Re: Sharing of Logic

"Not at all," Talon replied, taking another bite out of his chip. Even though Talon himself was an American, he grew to know the British terms and even began to use them himself. "But Michael, you are also a...catburglar?" Talon asked, almost in disbelief at the term. He seemed to be of the type just from his little display there, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of being surprised. Michael certainly didn't seem to be of the catburgler type. "That's cool and everything, but I just can't believe it really." Contradicting himself in his own mind though, Talon realized that in the past 20 minutes or so he learned he has footstools that acted like puppies, a rope that was also alive, a house that seemed to come out of the movie Flubber, and not to mention he was best friends with the Minister of Magic. "You know what...I do believe it. I can't help but feel a little surprised though." He was actually impressed. Michael seemed to be a guy that knew what he was doing. "You worked as a catburglar for the Ministry though? Isn't that a little lowball really? With all due respect of course."

"It would sound like it, wouldn't it?" Michael laughed. "But it isn't. I live very well. I have everything I need, and I'm not high maintenance. Robert and I met our first years in Gryffindor, and he and I have been friends since, and thats saying a lot. A few wars, several attempts of evil wizards to take over the wizarding world...you know.

"I actually started out by having to steal to keep my mother and my siblings fed and provided for--long before I went to Hogwarts. It wasnt' something I wanted to do. But, I was good at it. What I lacked was a friend. A good friend. And I found that when I met Robert and Remus and some of my other friends at Hogwarts. I figured out that there really was something worth fighting for. I've never stolen just for my own gain unless it was for survival. Never. That's not to say it wasnt tempting.

"But, I found out that sometimes those who work to protect our world and our way of life can't always do everything out in the open either. Sometimes they need people who are good at espionage. And that's what I'm good at."

"Michael is the sort of person I can always count on, unconditionally, no matter what." Robert said. "He can get into and out of those dark places that other wizards simply refuse to go. And he can do it without getting caught. That, and I pay Michael what he's worth."

"And that is no lowball thing, believe me," Michael smiled.

Talon couldn't really relate to Michael's story, seeing as how he came from an average upbringing, and when Talon took things, it wasn't really what he wanted to do. It just felt like he needed to do it. Maybe Michael could help him with his problem, but he wasn't going to announce anything about his problem just yet. Yet it sounded cool though how Michael was this sort of 'James Bond of the Wizarding World' thing, or rather that's just the first thing that came to his mind when Michael explained it. It seemed to fit a good cause, but Talon was never the one to see black and white in the world. It was always gray and always damning. He grabbed another chip and took a bite out of it, thinking about what to say next. "Does anyone else get into this line of work?" he asked, curious if Michael was solo in this operation or not. If he was, it would definitely show how under the table all this was, and that much cooler. In a way, it also explained a lot about Michael and how abnormal things seemed to follow him. You have an abnormal way of life in terms of your job, and more odd things were sure to follow.
