Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Silence in the Library Empty Silence in the Library

Post by Alphonso Song Sat Jun 02, 2012 2:38 am

As much as Al loved adrenaline and a good adventure, he also enjoyed a bit of relaxation and a good book. Luckily, he was getting three out of those four things. He had heard a rumor on the streets that there was a Library in Germany that hosted a secret treasure room. He had know idea if it was real or not but he wanted to check it out anyway. Now, most men would only be interested in this room for the treasure. Well, Al wasn't a very ordinary man, not at all. He wanted to find this room not for the riches or glory, but for the challenge of finding it without getting caught. Unluckily for him not getting caught was going to be the biggest challenge. The guards were EVERYWHERE in this damn library. He groaned as soon as he entered and four security guards past by him. But at the same time he smiled, because he loved a good challenge.

He spent most of the day inside the library simply reading and walking around. He wanted to know as much about this library as humanly possible. As he was walking around he memorized the path that each guard took. It appeared as though every guard took a different path but took it almost every time. He doubted there was a scheduled path for every guard but he wanted to make sure. So around mid day when it was really busy and every guard was on the floor, he snuck into the security office. Looking at the security cameras he charmed them to stay on the screen they were on now on repeat until closing. Simply looking around he realized that he was correct and there was no path at all. But when he was leaving he accidentally knocked down a picture, breaking it. Lucky he did that, there was a piece of cloth inside the frame. He didn't have time to look at it because someone was about to catch him.

For the rest of the day he just laid low. He did however do some more walking around, memorizing the floor plan of the building. He read through four books before the final call for closing was said over the intercom. He grinned as security went to check for anyone still in the rows of books. Al managed to go unnoticed, he hid inside a broom cupboard. Not exactly as sneaky and professional as he had wanted but it got the job done. When he figured the coast was clear he exited the broom cupboard and looked around. It was dark, the only light was that of the sunset through the windows on the roof. And, eventually, the moonlight. He pulled out his wand, slipping it into his sleeve. He grinned cheekily, adjusted his bow tie and muttered "It's show time."

Silence in the Library Empty Re: Silence in the Library

James likes to wait for everyone to leave the library because he doesn't want to be seen in one. This was one of those times.

James took notice of the man who was, was he sneaking? If he was it didn't fool James. But that isn't his problem. James was looking for a really good book on Dark magic. He has a couple but those are pretty useless. He decided to approach the man. He took a quick look and noticed the man was fairly handsome. James thought maybe he could do more then just ask for a book.

"Do you know where I can find a good book on Dark Magic?" James whispered to the man.

Al was pretty sure that the library was empty at this point. He figured, leisure time, what the hell. He was kind of multitasking really. He was looking for a decent book as well as the entrance to the secret passage. He knew libraries always had a special section only wizards could access. So he figured that he may as well start there. It's as good a place as any other. Plus the security guards wouldn't know it was even there so it was where he was most safe. It was kind of his getaway spot if he was noticed by one of the guards. So he wasn't paying attention when a man came up from behind him and asked him if he could find a good dark magic book.

Al nearly jumped at the sound of his voice. He looked the man over, shorter than he was. But a fairly handsome man nonetheless. He thought for a moment, everything running through his mind. This man, most likely a wizard, but probably not a good one. He was looking for a book on dark magic, not a very good sign. And he had managed to elude the guards, so he could be useful in finding this secret room. He came to a conclusion. "Can't say that I have!" he told him as he put the book he was hiding back. "However, I'm sure you can find one somewhere around here. I'm actually looking for a fairly good book myself." he told him as he continued his search. "Most likely a big one, leather bound, plenty of pages to go through!" he called as he moved down the shelves of books.

James stifled a laugh when the other man jumped. He wasn't even aware that James was here. James decided about leaving when the man replied that he didn't know of any good Dark Magic books. James followed the man as he walked away looking down another shelf. "So, what's your name?" James asked with a smirk on his face. James has been in a good mood today and that's a surprise in itself.

Al noticed that the man was following him; he didn't like it. He kept his eyes on the shelves but kept glancing over to the man. He put on a look of interest as he stopped to admire a rather large leather bound. "Try this." he said tossing the book to the man. Maybe that would distract him as he continued his search. The vibe this guy was giving off worried him. He heard him speak despite Al's attempts to block him out. "I'm, Al." he said. He chose not to tell him his full name because A)It was ALPHONSO, silly name. B)He did not know this guy nor did he trust him.

He continued to walked down the rows. Anything that could give away the fact that it was a switch or something. He took the opportunity to ask the man a few questions. "So what do you call YOURself?" he asked him. He didn't look at the man, his eyes still transfixed on finding a switch. But then again he had to be sure he didn't trip a trap or something. He picked up another smaller, hardcover book. It was a stupid book about wizard fairytales. He scoffed at it and tossed it behind him.

James grabbed the book the man handed him. He was examining the book when the man said, "I'm Al." James tried stifling a laugh. The name Al could be short for anything and usually the names were funny, at least to James that is. Then Al asked what he called himself. Now, James isn't exactly happy with his full name, but that's why he uses his middle name.

"Lucifer James. Call me James though. Lucifer isn't one of my favorite names." And then Al tossed him another book which James caught before it hit the ground.
