"Now, there's no need to damage your Animagi form, Jess." Jack said, then heard a scratching behind him and turned to see the those words written on the blackboard. He grabbed a duster, removed it, then repositioned the chalk.

"Let's begin with some simple rules of arithmancy. Firstly, parenthesis. Everything is parenthesis. These are your keys to the world of Arithmancy: ( and ).

"Rule 2: Prefix your operations. In normal Muggle maths, you midfix your operations, for example 1 + 1. But in Arithmancy, we do this: (+ 1 1). It's very simple, and easier to handle.

"Rule 3: Balance your parentheses," - he paused, and lifted a two-dish balance out from under the desk - "So you open a parenthesis, and you place one disc on this plate." So saying, he placed a thin, silver disc on one side. The scale immediately tipped. "Then you close the parenthesis, and it balances." He placed a disk on the other plate. "And it works with multiple parenthesis."

Jess' mouth was slightly ajar as he looked at the prof.

"If you don't like it, try it yourself. It's fun to do that." Jack crosses the room, and opens a cupboard. He pulls a smaller set of scales and a stack of discs out from inside, and places the scales on Jess' desk. He then pauses, and distributed the scales to everyone else as well.

Jack goes to the front of the classroom and grabs a stick of chalk and writes some arithmancy up on the blackboard.

Jess knew Prof knew that Jess really sucked at maths. But Jess still furrowed his brow and set to work.

Aminia just looked up at the professor, she was kind of lost so she did the first one the way she thought was right, she put 4 silver littl plates on one side and then 6 on the other, then she raised her hand and said "Like this professor?"

Something suddenly clicked as he rethought (Reread lol) the instructions. He started to do what he had to and he was VERY please with himself.

Elizabeth knew this math was easy for her since she knew much about since she transformed from Salem school.

Jess was actually doing it "huzza..." he shouted before he realised he had said it out loud. He then shrunk into his chair ever so slightly
