Kayla walked into the common room wearing her pajama pants a tank top and her fuzzy slippers. In her hand was a really big book about a magical school where witches and wizards learn how to use their powers. She curled up in one of the big arm chairs by the fire and opened the book to the last page where she had left off. Smiling she began to read and twirl her hair round her finger. The book she was reading was one of her favorites because she could relate to it though at the same time she hated it because of its inaccuracy.

Jimmy was sitting in the corner of the room, as far away from the fire as possible. The Sun's rays peeking through the window next to him were already making him tetchy as it is, he didn't need any more heat pestering him. Fortunately though, Jimmy had a book to read. He had enjoyed the little break he had during the past few days and feeling refreshed, Jimmy was looking forward to getting his nose buried in books again.

His focus was disturbed however, by a fellow student entering the room. Jimmy peered up at her, eyebrow raised "Well, that's one way to dress I guess..." he thought, tugging his coat around him more. Seeing that she was reading too, Jimmy turned back to his book, feeling confident he wouldn't have to resort to going to the library in order to focus.

Jack had been sitting fairly close to the fire in one of the big arm chairs with his legs over the arm rest, since before Jimmy had even entered the room. Jack had with him a thick pale grey book, which he seemed to be either writing or drawing in. Jack put down his quill and rubbed his eyes.

"Ugh" muttered Jack as he rubbed his dry eyes which he had kept open a little too long. Jack picked up his quill and continued writing or drawing. He gave the page he was on a few more strokes of the quill before he put it back down. He closed the book and set it down on the floor next to the chair. Jack looked at the fire for what seemed like hours before smiling and letting his head rest on the arm rest.

There was a strange feeling in the air as Kayla read her book, but she pushed it off as just something she felt from what she was reading. ”ugh” she heard someone sigh which drug her attention from her book toward the boy across from her. She continued to look around while still twirling her hair around her finger and only noticed one other person in the common room. This person was also of the male gender and this made Kay feel a little uncomfortable she pulled her knees in closer to her and looked back at the first guy. “Whatcha doing in that book?” She asked, “It’s not nice to deface books.. they have feelings too.”

"Its a sketchbook" Said Jack in reply to the girl, his American Accent showing through a little more the usual.He swung his legs over so he would be sitting normally in the char, he folded his arms on his stomach. "I was just working on a hobby" He said as he turned his head to look at the girl with a smile. He then turned his head to look over to the other person in the room but only for a moment before turning his head back to the girl. "What are you reading?" He asked the girl in his nicest tone of voice.

“Oh this old thing?” She asked closing the book in her hand and holding it up. “It’s a muggle book about witches and wizards who go to a school a lot like Hogwarts. But there magic is all messed up. I mean there is no spell that can make animals talk. I’m right…. Right?” Kayla tilted her head in thought as she tried to remember if there was such a spell. “I’m pretty sure there is no such spell.” She looked over at the other guy again. “How about you? What are you reading?” She asked hugging the closed book to her chest and pulling her knees closer to her.

Jimmy's confidence in it remaining peaceful was shattered as he heard voices coming from the far end of the room. He set his book down on his lap and watched the two people, contemplating whether he should head to the library.

Jimmy was just about to stand up when the girl spoke to him. Raising an eyebrow and sitting back down, he responded. "Oh, uh, just a novel..." he said quietly, gesturing lethargically to the book in his hand.

“Yes Silly, but what kind of novel?” Kayla asked, “Is it ‘fantasy’? Or maybe mystery? Or could it possibly be historical stuff? Or maybe even an action movie?” She pursed her lips in though as she tried to remember all of the genres of books she had ever read. Though she had read almost every type of book there was out there. She didn’t partially like Historical books. She found the quiet boring. Sighing she leaned back in the chair and slouched hugging her book to her chest. “This book truly is wonderful.” She murmured to herself, “Really all books are.”

"It's uh...a historical novel.." said Jimmy, settling back into his seat again. He was reluctant to divulge any more details about it, feeling overly protective about his books ever since a weird Slytherin boy ripped one to shreds.

Jimmy then looked back at his book, a little irked at having his concentration broken. "My apologies, I'd rather get back to this" he said politely, tapping the spine of the book. Jimmy immersed himself once more into his book, his face expressionless save for a small smile, caused by hearing the girl's comment on books. "Yes..yes they are..." he mused to himself, hoping the other two would start talking amongst themselves again, and hopefully keep it down.

Kasumi decided to go read to get some stuff her mind. Once she got to the library, she was the happiest person in the world. She didn't have anyone to distract her while she read. She already had a book, she just wanted somewhere quiet to read. She was reading and walking so she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. While she was walking she tripped on the chairs of Jimmy and Kayla. She fell and her book went flying to the other side of the library. She started to blush because she felt stupid. "I'm so sorry guys.." she started. "I was just so into my book I didn't watch where I was going. She tried to get up and she realized she may have pulled a muscle in her leg. "Dang it" she murmered. "Sorry..." She said again as she slowly limped to get her book.
