Heyo.
Another message about some admin stuff I'm doing. Owing to current... shall we call them "problems" I've decided that we really don't need to have our classes at Hogwarts split into to small groups, rather we can have them all in one class - the system I created to split NEWT, OWL and Basic was catered to a membership that was entirely student based, and did not include Graduates, thus it's no longer really suitable when we can't keep either class active, where we used to have 3.
So, that's number 1 - all students will now be attending classes together, no age break.
Number 2 is that there is going to be a proper time frame for classes now. On the 1st and 15th of every month the teachers are now instructed to create their class. If they do not do so within two days, a substitute teacher will be expected to step in, regardless of the actual teacher's activity level. If this happens more than twice in a row, the permanent becomes a sub, and the sub takes on the permanent position (if they wish it.) If no sub is around, we will use the founder account to run a smaller than average class whilst we seek a replacement. Classes can continue to exist after the next class begins, but for no longer than a month, then the topic is locked.
So, 2 is that a proper timetable is being established on classes.
Number 3 is that we're scrapping the formal class lists (For now)
We still want you going to classes - that is the purpose for Hogwarts, but this is just intended to take the intimidation out of it. So, turn up to as many as you possibly can, and don't worry about being late - teachers can't take points away for being late anymore, they can just not give you any for not turning up if you're very late.
Beware though, if classes are provided, but the students don't turn up to them, there will be discussions at the end of the IC term to remove the student side of the site. We don't want to do this, but if you don't go to classes, I will be arguing that it's simply a waste of the admin's time to bother maintaining the school. Please go to your classes people
And number four is that I'm going to start running house challenges in a manner similar to that of the FNRP, so keep your eyes open on that - it'll be a great way to earn lots of points for your house!
Annnd that leads me onto my last point that we're stepping up house points. From now on points will not be deducted for being late to class, but will be deducted for bad behaviour (When it's obvious, be sneaky and you're all good)
Points will be given out at a higher rate and HoHs have been asked to be a little bit more favouriting to their houses, so just keep that in mind and work your best to get your houses ahead!
So far we're working on rewards, but I've already decided on giving a special sig to the winning house, and letting them decide on a special reward via vote in their common room.
I think that's it. Questions, ask them, opposition, state it, opinion share it!
