Sisterly Love

The day was beautiful, warm, a nice easy breeze, and best of all it was lively. No one liked a dead place in a day like this. People were walking everywhere, entering shops left and right. Alexis Harmony D'Eath breathed in deeply, inhaling all the good moods that were around her. This was why she loved being in Diagon Alley, everyone was always calm and happy, and there were rarely any fights. It was just an all around pleasant place.

The eighteen year old, well now nineteen her birthday was today, opened her shop a bit earlier than usual. She knew that it would be busy in Diagon Alley today, so she wanted to get a head start on everything. Her best friend Amanda seemed to think the same thing, because she appeared in front of the shop moments after Alexis opened it. They smiled at each other and Amanda quickly went into the kitchen to begin the food preparations. It was a good thing they were both early risers, or else Alexis would have been on her own for another hour or so.

"Happy birthday Lex." Amanda called from the kitchen and Alexis smiled. "Thanks Manda." she said softly. "Nineteen years old now. You're getting old Lex." Amanda laughed. Alexis laughed with her and shook her head. "Hey look who's talking. You turned nineteen a month before me!" she laughed softly. Alexis walked to the door and turned on the sign outside that said, 'Open' and she sighed happily. "Time to work." she said, as she opened the doors to the Cafe.

It was a beautiful day, and Lily loved it for Spring happen to be her favorite time of the year for she loved of fresh flowers blooming. Today was her sister birthday and to surpruse her Lily decided to head to her resturant she owned and surprise her. Although she was sure she wouldn't for Lexi pretty much knew almost everything so there was no keeping secret from her. As she walked happily through the crowd she was careful not to crush Lexi's present she gotten for her. As she seen Cafe Twin Montez she smiled and walked in.

As she seen Amanada Alexis best friend she smiled at her for she gotten along pretty well with her. "Hey Manda, and happy birthday Lexi!"said Lily softly. "Oh I got a gift for you, I know it's not much but I hope you like it!"said Lily softly. As she handed her the box it simply had a picture frame of the two of them together during last summer. On the frame it said best sisters for life Lexi and Lily. "I know you have alot of pictures in your room and house, so I thought I'll add more to them."said Lily shrugging. "I could of gotten you something big, but daddy been a bit busy so I couldn't ask him."said Lily.


"Oh Lexi you should see my new designs for our summer house! It's going to look amazing when I'm done with it!"said Lily happily. "Oh... Lexi, I met a boy his name is Subastian were just friends though but he's really sweet."said Lily softly. Lily always told her sister the lastest update on things going on with her life after all, she was her big sister and she looked up to her.

Alexis looked up from the paper she was reading and smiled when she saw her younger sister Lily. Amanda poked her head out of Alexis' office and smiled. "Hey Lily. How are ya?" she asked, before the phone ran and she ducked back in to get it. Alexis looked over at the office and sighed, it seemed that Amanda was busier than she was and she was the owner of the place not Amanda. Still she appreciated the help Amanda gave her with running the cafe.

"Thanks Lily." she smiled at her sister before she took the present from her. Lily was pretty much the only one who wished her a happy birthday out of their family today. She wondered if they had forgotten, or if they just didn't feel like saying it. She knew Damitrius remembered it but was just refusing to say anything because she didn't like her anymore. Though she didn't remember much from before being turned, Alexis knew that Damitrius had always been the first one to wish her a happy birthday every year without fail.

Alexis looked down at the picture and smiled sweetly at her sister. "Oh thanks Lily! It's beautiful." she said, divino her sister a hug. "It's alright Lily. You know I never liked getting big birthday presents." she said softly. "Come on." she waved at her sister as she started to walk toward her office where Amanda still was. "This deserves a special place, that isn't at home." she told Lily. She was right about her having a lot of pictures at home, but as she walked into the office the desk was lacking in decorations. Alexis smiled at Lily and placed the picture right in the middle of the desk. "There. What do you think Lily? Does it look good there?" she asked her sister.

"That's a mighty pretty picture." Amanda said. "Lily got it for ya?" She asked softly. Alexis nodded and Amanda looked back at the picture. Alexis raised her eyebrow at Lily's mention of meeting a boy. "Oh really?" She asked sounding somewhat teasingly. "Do you like this boy?" she asked her. She felt inclined to mention Larko to her but first she would let her talk about Subastian before anything else, as she always did with her younger siblings.

Lily looked at Amanda and smiled. "I'm doing good, nice seeing you again."said Lily softly before she ran off to get the phone. "Seems like you have your hands full Lexi."said Lily as she looked around the packed place but she was glad the place was so busy. Twin Montez was a really popular place in Diagon Alley, seems like every one loved it.

"Your welcome Lexi, it's your birthday why would I forget?"Lily asked her softly probably knowing everyone else forgot. "I'm sure there just busy Lexi, I'm sure once you stop by the house they will all tell you."said Lily softly. Lily knew Damitrius was always the one to wish her Happy Birthday but now days they very rarely spoke to each other. Lily had to admit she did come a weird but serious family, but she loved her father and siblings very much but sometimes she wished to be a normal happy family. Lily knew her life wasn't like other people she had different so called steps mom almost every 3 to 6 months and basically none of them knew who there mother was.

Lily's eyes sparkled happily as her older sister loved the gift. "Once again you welcome Lexi."said Lily hugging her back. Lily nodded. "Yeah I know, but I felt like I needed to get you something bigger then a picture frame!"said Lily softly. Lily followed her into her office and looked around the office not really liking how plain it was. Lily's eyes sparkled with happiness as she set the picture in the middle of her desk. "I think it's perfect Lexi!"said Lily softly. "You know, if you want me to Lexi I can design your office to make it more roomier if you like just give me your favorite colors and what you want and I'll throw something together."said Lily softly.

Lily nodded. "Yup, it was our summer vacation that we took last year to Hawaii."said Lily softly. Lily rolled her eyes at her sisters teasing voice. "Yeah but like I said, were just really good freidns nothing more."said Lily softly. As she asked if she liked him she blushed and looked away and nodded before looking back at her. "Yes I do Lexi, I like him alot he's so sweet and caring and he's my house and he's the same age!"said Lily.

"I'm sure he likes you too." Alexis told her sister. "I mean, what's not to like? You're pretty, smart and very creative." she smiled at her. Alexis moved her bangs out of her face a bit and sighed. She was beginning to wonder where Larko was, she hadn't seen him for a while, almost a month ago to be exact. It was during the full moon, when they were attacked by another werewolf in the Shrieking Shack. The image of the other werewolf, hanging in midair, struggling to get away and she remembered seeing the wolf slump after Larko stunned it.

She looked over at Amanda when she heard a gasp come from the girl's mouth. "What is it Manda?" she asked her. Amanda looked at Alexis, and she noticed that her eyes were glistening with tears. Alexis, naturally worried about her best friend, tilted her head to the side a bit and walked over to her. What's wrong? Tell me." she urged her friend, and Amanda put the phone back into it's place. "My ... My brother ..." she barely managed to say to Alexis. "Jason? Or Michael?" she asked softly. Amanda had two younger brothers, one of which was a wizard like she was while the other was a muggle like their parents.

"J - Jason." Amanda said, covering her mouth a bit. Jason was the older one of her two brothers, he was fifteen years old and the muggle out of the three siblings. "What happened to him?" Alexis asked quickly, fearing that something was really wrong. "My mum, just told me that he ... he was found in the middle of the street bleeding heavily. We don't know what happened to him, but he's at the hospital right now." Alexis gasped, and covered her mouth quickly. "I - I have to ..." Amanda started. "Go Manda. I know you have to be there for your brother. I can't close the cafe but I'll meet up with you later, okay?" Amanda nodded and ran out of the cafe.

Alexis sighed and ran a hand through her hair gently. "Oh, I hope he's okay ..." she whispered after her friend left. She turned back to Lily and smiled sadly. "Sorry you had to hear about all that Lily." she sighed. "Lily, would you mind helping me for a little bit? As you can see, I'm short on help right now and this place is going to get really busy in a few minutes." she told her younger sister.
