Few Hours To Talk

Annabella sighed, it had been a long day and she was so very ready for a drink now. She walked through London for several long hours before deciding to go get a drink at the Leaky Cauldron. Annabella walked through the doors of the pub pausing for a second to take in the air. It smelled of alcohol in there very strongly of it in fact. She was wearing stonewashed jeans and a simple blue t-shirt that complemented her body. She walked over to the bar, her hair bouncing with every step. “Just a butterbeer please.” She said to the bartender. She waited only a minute before she got her drink and passed a sickle to the bartender. “Thank you.” She said smiling brightly. Annabella turned around searching for an empty table to where she could gather her thoughts collectively. Seeing one she started walking to it, stopping for just a second.

It had been a long day, a really long day, for him. He had been hoping that nothing would go wrong during his lesson, but of course that couldn't happen. He'd had to stop class a bit early because a girl had fainted after touching one of the most delicate creatures in the world, a unicorn. He had no idea what had happened, all he knew was that one minute the girl is fine and the next she was on the ground. Before that though he'd been disrupted multiple time by three girls, one of which was the one who had collapsed.

He wondered if they just had something against him. Or if they did this in every class where they were together. Jake let out a sigh as he entered the Leaky Cauldron. He really needed something to get everything off his mind. Especially those three girls, considering he would have to deal with them for the rest of this year, and the following two years. He wasn't sure how he would be able to handle them the entire time, but he was going to try.

The dark haired boy took a seat at one of the tables near the windows and took off his black leather jacket. Taking it off he revealed a plain dark blue t-shirt and he wore black jeans. Since he was out of the school he didn't have to dress as professionally as he normally would, so he decided to also wear HoH favorite black converse with the clothes he had on. A waitress came to take his order and he sighed softly. "Just a butterbeer please." he smiled warmly at her. The waitress smiled back at him and took off to get his order. She came back moments later with the butterbeer and she placed it on the table in front of him. "Thank you." he said and he gave her a galleon as a tip.

Annabella turned around quickly and then continuing off to the empty table she had spotted a minute ago. She stopped abruptly though seeing a boy had taken her table before she had time to reach it. "When did that happen?" She thought to herself. She shook it off though continuing to the table anyway. Stopping short of the empty seat at the table, she smiled at the boy. “Hi, I uh... Could I join you please?” She asked nicely gesturing to the seat across from him. Annabella continued to smile at him while standing a good five feet away from him at the same time.

She took note that there was some tables open but the boy in front of her seemed like he could use a bit of a light conversation, honestly she could as well. Thinking back to the conversation she had with her twin sister the other day.

(Flashback- Annabella and Sarah)

“You’re going to be alone for the rest of your life if you don’t take your mind off of hunting Death Eaters for at least a day Anna!” Sarah said approaching Annabella slowly. Annabella flinched back a bit knowing Sarah was right. Did she want to be alone and single all her life? Though her work with the Order was important to her, but maybe she could take some time to actually live her life for once in a while. Sarah stared at Annabella for a good five minutes raising her eyebrow. The thing with being twins is, anything the other does it seems like they are looking in a mirror. “You’re right Sarah…”

Annabella snapped out of her flashback and returned her full attention to the boy sitting in front of her waiting for him to speak. She had, at the end of her and Sarah’s conversation, promised that she would look for love while she wasn’t on duty. “Is it alright if I can?” She asked again.

He still wondered if it had been the right thing to away to give all three girls a detention. Well, he was sure the two Slytherin girls deserved it, because from what he knew they were always causing trouble, as was the nature of not only Slytherins but of prankster as well. Those two girls were pranksters and they were Slytherins, not very good matches. He sighed softly. He felt bad for the Hufflepuff girl he had given the detention too. But he couldn't turn a blind eye to the fact that she too had contributed to the disruption of the class.

He had figures out why he wasn't so hard on the Hufflepuff as he was on the others. It was because she reminded him a lot of his sister, Mayleen. Of course his sister was in Gryffindor as he had been, but he always thought that she would have been a better fit for Hufflepuff. She wad always happy and friendly, and most of all, though she had a rebellious streak like he did, she was very loyal. But she was very brave and courageous, which was whay got her into Gryffindor in the first place.

A voice snapped him out of his thoughts and with his hand on the handle of the butterbeer cup, he turned his head to look at who it was. He sighed softly and smiled at the girl who was in front of his table. He looked across from him at where she gestured and he nodded. "Sure you can." he said softly. Jake subconsciously ran a hand through his long black hair and took a drink from the butterbeer in his hand.

Annabella smiled kindly back at him. "Thank you." She said sitting down and taking a sip from her own butterbeer. She watched as the boy ran his hand through his hair. He looked like he had been in deep thought when Annabella interrupted him. "Are you alright?" She asked setting her drink down. "Oh my name is Annabella by the way in case you are wondering." She said smiling but then decided to go back to her question before hand. "Is there anything wrong that I can help with?" She asked once more as she fiddled with her drink's handle.

She was quite keen on becoming a healer of some sorts when she got more experience. At the moment she was not very good. She could only perform simple spells of healing. None of the major ones that are more helpful but she did know how to perform some simple ones that do come in handy at times. Annabella continuing staring at the boy and realized she hadn't blinked once and probably looked a tad bit weird having her eyes stay wide open. She blinked once, twice, and then a third time.

Jake smiled as she sat down, and then he looked down at his drink. He knew that being a Professor would be hard, yet he had taken the job anyways. He had to somehow learn how to control all the student's behaviors in the class. It was fine if they wanted to talk sometimes but if they disrupted too many times then that was when he wouldn't tolerate the talking. He sighed and took a sip of his drink.

He looked at the girl as she introduced herself as Annabella. He smiled and her and said, "My names Jake." He extended his hand toward her and continued smiling. "I'm fine. It's just that I am a pretty new Professor at Hogwarts and I was just thinking about the class I had been teaching earlier today." he said going back to his thoughts. He figured it was just because he was a new Professor and everything seemed hard to him. Bit maybe as he went on things would get a little calmer.

Annabella smiled and shook his hand "Hello there Jake." She said letting go of his hand slowly. She listened to him speak with respect and stayed silent until he finished. She waited a couple minutes as he seemed to go back to thinking after he finished speaking to her. What possible could have happened she was wondering. "Would you like to talk about it? I give pretty good advice I've been told. Maybe I can help you sort it out with your class." She said coming to the conclusion that something went wrong during the class he was teaching. She took a drink of her butterbeer and then looked him in his eyes wondering if he would talk about it with her.
