A Day Alone... Or Not?

Annabella sighed heavily as she walked through the Leaky Cauldron to get to the entrance of Diagon Alley. She stood back after tapping the bricks and watched as the door to Diagon Ally formed. She always had loved to watch it form. Annabella walked through and took in the sight of the bright magic shopping center. She smiled happily walking passed shop after shop. Her first stop was undecided as of right now. Annabella paused right outside of Eeylops Owl Emporium peering into the shop looking at the owls inside. She sighed thinking thoughtfully to herself. She had wanted an owl for a while but kept deciding against it.

Damon was walking in Diagon Alley when he looked over, he stopped dead in his tracks. A man behind him ran into him, Damon apologized to the gentlemen and walked over to where the woman was standing. "They're beautiful aren't they?" Damon said smiling softly looking at her. She looks like an angel he thought as he kept a few paces away from her not wanting to crowd her. "Owls are smart too which is why we use them to send messages to one another. Pigeons get a little side tracked when they're trying to deliver a message." He didn't know what to say to her, he was awestruck by her beauty.

Annabella turned to the voice that was speaking to her from the side of her. “Oh hello there.” She said sweetly giving him a small smile. She looked back to the owls in front of her, nodding in agreement. “Yeah they are, I’ve been wanting one but have been having a hard time deciding which owl to get.” She said looking back at the man. “Any suggestions?” She asked smiling again. Annabella took in his appearance, noticing that he was very handsome. “So I’ve heard.” She said chuckling softly. “Oh forgive me, where are my manners? My name is Annabella Waverly. Nice to meet you uh..” She paused realizing he hadn’t said his name either.

"Oh I'm terribly sorry i forgot myself, I'm Damon Fields. It is a very great pleasure to meet you Annabella Waverly. I would recommend the snowy owl, they are very affectionate and loyal. They also have a knack of conning more treats out of you then necessary but they have big hearts. What brings you to Diagon Alley Miss. Waverly?" Damon asked looking at her smiling thinking that if angels were here on Earth she was one of them. He wondered if she would care for some company from him during her trip here. He had never met someone who he wanted to spend some time with.

Annabella smiled as Damon spoke to her, she liked the sound his voice carried. “Would you like to help me pick one then since you seem so knowledgeable on owls?” She asked as she made her way inside of the shop motioning him to follow her. “Oh I’m just doing a bit of shopping; if you don’t care I could use some company through my trip here.” She said turning around and giving him another smile. She was rather happy that she had met Damon though he was still a mere stranger, she hadn’t wanted to go around Diagon Alley alone and he seemed nice enough to prove to become some rather interesting company.

Damon followed her in the shop smiling and said, "Sure i can help you pick on out. I'd be happy to keep you company on your trip here. Now let's see what owls we have to choose from." He looked around at the owls smiling as one of the swooped down and landed on his shoulder. "Hello there." He laughed as the owl just sat there and looked at him hooting softly. "Well this one seems to like me." Damon said smiling at her then looked up and saw a snowy white owl following Annabella's movements looking like it wanted to come down but wasn't sure. "Ok above you is a snow owl that looks like it wants to say hello to you. Just hold out your arm and allow it to land upon it." He said watching the owl.

Annabella grinned as he said he would help her pick out an owl along with accompanying her along her trip. She looked up admiring all the owls and had to admit, the snow owls were the most amazing of them all. She smiled as she watched an owl land on Damon’s shoulder. “Very adorable.” She said giving the owl on Damon’s shoulder a quick pat on the head. She listened as Damon spoke again and looked up to see the owl he was indicating flying above her head in circles. “Like this?” She asked putting out her arm as he had said. Suddenly she heard a hoot and the owl landed on the lower part on her arm closer to her wrist and slowly walked up to her shoulder. “Why hello there mister owl. You are quite a cutie.” She said smiling as the owl finally stopped approaching and perched on her shoulder. “You seem quite gentle too.” She said as the owl softly ran its beak on her cheek. Annabella looked to Damon and smiled widely. “I think he likes me!” She said grinning now.

"Yes I think he does like you. Here give him this." Damon said pulling out a treat for the owl sitting on her shoulder. He smiled when the owl rubbed his beak across her cheek softly, he held out the treat for Annabella to give to her owl. He took another and held it up for the owl on his shoulder. The owl on his shoulder gently took the treat out of his palm and ate it down then rubbed it's head against Damon's in thanks. He gave the owl a pet and looked back over at Annabella as well as the owl on her shoulder to see how the owl took the treat from her.

Annabella smiled taking the treat from Damon and sighed softly as their hands touched for a few mere seconds. The warmth of his hand was delightful. She held the treat in her hand as she watched Damon take another treat and held it to the owl on his shoulder. Annabella studied him, watching his every movement and smiled when the owl on Damon’s shoulder rubbed it’s head on Damon’s. She quickly looked away as Damon turned to look at her. Blushing; she handed the treat to the owl on her own shoulder who took it happily and nudged her cheek with his beak for another. She chuckled looking at Damon again with the blush still slightly hanging on her cheeks.

Damon saw a blush on her cheeks and wondered what she was blushing for. He reached over and petted the owl on her shoulder softly. "Easy now little one, you'll get more but not until later. So what do you think of this little guy, he's still very young but he will be very good fit for you. What do you think?" Damon said smiling looking at her in the face, 'she is very beautiful' he thought not wanting to say it out loud because he had just met her.
