Brooding...

Coral's hands were folded on the table, and she wore a polite and false smile. "Thank you very much for playing with me, Mr. Scamander, sir." She called out her first move and watched the associated piece move. "I think that you do not know yourself very well, and thus, you are wrong. I think the root of your problem DOES stem from feelings of inadequacy due to being overshadowed by your brother. And I think that if you continue to believe that this problem is something inherent and engrained in your personality, you will NEVER get a girlfriend." She met his eyes. "Your move."

Lysander sighed softly, resigning himself in the arguement of what caused his discomfort around girls. "I don't know. Maybe you're right, I never realized anything bad that could be caused by my brother. But there is a possibility that you are right." he told her softly. She was probably right, even though he had always denied it, Lorcan was usually the cause of his discomfort in one way or another. He always did something that Lysander didn't like. It was like his mission to outshine him in various things. That was why he always got mad when Lysander beat him in a small thing, such as those competitions they had with drumming and playing guitar.

As the girl met his eyes, Lysander hesitated and looked down quickly. He swallowed nervously and stared at the pieces laid out in front of him and he sighed. Finally he reached out and moved one of the pieces with a shaky hand. "Your move." he said softly, lowering his glance at Lucio who was rubbing himself up against his legs and he gently rubbed the cat's head.

Lotus came up behind Lucio and tackled him playfully before also rubbing up against Lysander's legs, and then his owner's. Coral looked down at the board, apparently concentrating on the game, although her words suggested her mind might actually be elsewhere. "I have experience in these things. I have six sisters, each far more beautiful, well-liked, and generally more successful than me despite being rather brainless in my opinion. I know that I am better than them, though, and one day, I shall prove it without a shadow of a doubt." She called out her next move.
