Its What we do!

It was late and no one seemed to be up roaming the Slytherin common room. Well no one except for the seventeen year old Nathaniel Mulciber. He sat there quietly in the semi dark room facing the way to the girls dormitory, and just out of the corner of his eye he could see the door leading out of the common room and into the rest of the dungeons. He would see if his sister tried to leave the girls dorm, if she were in there at all, or if she snuck in after curfew. His parents had asked him to watch out for his baby sister and that’s what he had been doing for the past six years. It had always been obvious that she thought he was an attention hog and she seemed to look for attention and get it for the wrong reasons. He wouldn’t admit it to anyone but he really didn’t want to see his sister hurt. Though he did believe she deserved it sometimes.

Nathaniel yawned as he lay his head back against the leather sofa and propped his feet up beside him. Okay so he was no longer sitting but that didn’t bother him one bit. He didn’t think Dani would be sneaking out this late maybe he’d be albe to catch some sleep before she would think about going out.

Another successful day.

Of pranking that is. She had known her goodie-goodie brother would be waiting for her to try to sneak out of the girl's dormitories although she wasn't even in there. Predicting this she had left the common room earlier to go about her daily pranking business and she had been completely and utterly successful. No one had seen her coming the entire time and she loved taking in their reactions of her pranks. She had almost cried from all the laughing she had done and even now her sides were still hurting from the laughter.

There was one thing that made her day even more successful that it had already been. The fact that she had seen the girl who her brother liked. He hadn't been around and she had seen that as a perfect opportunity to do something to her. Her prank had been a simple one, just throw water over her head as she hadn't wanted to take it too far that day. The girl who usually always had her guard up was caught completely off guard and jumped at the water hitting her head. Before she had the chance to do anything though, Dani had run away laughing.

Pushing the door to the Slytherin dungeon open, Dani found herself staring at her brother's figure and she smirked. "Nathaniel!" she screamed in his ear, trying to jolt him awake with the scream. If there was one thing she loved more than pranking random students, it was pranking her older brother.

“Huh, what?!” Nathaniel’s voice was groggy as he sat up and looked around. Rubbing his eyes he almost hit his sister in the head with is elbow. “Oh I must have fallen asleep..” He said, “I’m sorry Dani I should have hit you… Wait what time is it? Did you just get back into the common room? What the hell are you doing just getting in?” His voice went from the low grogginess to a loud angriness. “You know you shouldn’t be out past after curfew! If you got caught you could get into trouble! You could get kicked out and Mum and Dad would blame it on me for not keeping an eye on you!” his hair was a mess and his clothing was all rumpled. He looked somewhat dazed and had a little bit of drool on the corner of his mouth. No one could really think he was really mad or take him seriously. How could they when he looked so ridiculous. He had been dreaming of the girl in Sparks again. He couldn’t stop thinking about her. Even as he scolded his sister he thought of her.

Leaning back, almost getting hit by her brother's elbow, Dani laughed at his reaction to her scream. "Where I came from is none of your business." her eyes immediately narrowed at him, and she frowned. "I have a life unlike you, that all you do is think about that stupid Gryffindork you like." she had purposely said, Gryffindork, knowing his reaction wouldn't be a good one but she would find it hilarious. "You realize that if you try to get married with her, you'll be disowned, right? For one she's a Gryffindor and two she's a not a pureblood. So it's best to forget about that stupid, gullible girl." she spoke in a low tone that sounded like a hiss.

"If I get kicked out of this stupid school, that's my problem although I wouldn't mind blaming it on you. Mum and Dad would be happy to hear that I got kicked out cause of you, and that you're in love with a halfblood Gryffindor." she hissed at him. She pointed her finget out at him. "And don't you dare try to test me, because you know full well that I will say everything to Mum and Dad." she told him. She looked him over noticing his clothes were all messed up as was his hair and the drool he had on the side of his mouth was proof that he had been dreaming of that damned girl. "You're an idiot and a mess. No wonder she doesn't even pay attention to you." she laughed at him.

Juliet followed far behind Danielle, waiting several seconds to sneak back in after Danielle, she didn't want anybody to see her sneaking in with danielle, she didn't want to risk their friendship over getting caught after pranking several not-so-poor souls. Even though most of them diserved it, she didn't really felt bad, well she sort of did, but not really. She stepped in a few minutes after Danielle, only to see her standing over a boy she knew as danielle's brother. She froze in her spot and watched the two anxiously, wondering why Danielle was still in here.

She watched the two of them interact and frowned. She had no siblings that she knew of, and had always wanted one. She looked at the boy's facial features and flushed in embaressment. He was cute, she had to at least admit that to herself. She wouldn't let herself like another person, she didn't want to be with anyone, she loved how her parents acted together when her father was alive, but she saw how her mother acted when she heard of his death. She didn't want to risk that.

“She’s not at Griffindork, she is a Gryffindor.” Nathaniel told his sister coldly narrowing his eyes. He quickly fixed his hair and cloths before wiping the drool off of his mouth. “If you tell mum I will hex you until the end of time.” Out of the corner of his eye he saw another person standing there watching him. Looking over at the girl he flashed one of his crooked grins “Well hello there,” He said in a long drawl, “What is such a pretty lady doing sneaking in past curfew? Could you have been with my very unladylike sister? She really does need to learn some manners don’t she?” he stood up and walked up to her. Taking her hand he said “Well anyway my name is Nathaniel.” Then he kissed her hand.

Dani rolled her eyes at her brother and scoffed. "She's a Gryffindork." she said in a low hiss drawing out the word to add emphasis. Her eyes narrowed at her brother's threat. "Sure you will. You don't have the guts to do it. And I will tell mum and she'll kill you when she finds out, maybe she'll even disown you." she smirked at him. Falling for a Gryffindor was one thing, but he knew what could happen to him if their parents found out that she was a halfblood.

The fifth year immediately looked over when she saw Nathaniel flash a smile at someone. Her eyes widened a bit when she saw Juliet and she looked down at the floor. "Leave her alone." she said finally to her brother, looking up a bit at Juliet. She watched as he walked over to her and took her hand. "I said leave her alone Nathaniel!" Dani exclaimed. "Don't touch her." she added. Her hand reached over for her wand, but she didn't pull it out.

Juliet blushed dark and looked away as he smiled. "I'm Juliet Valentine...Nice to meet you." She mumbled looked at Danielle. 'help me!' she mouthed to her friend, still dark red. Juliet looked at Nathaniel and frowned angerly. "Dani's plenty ladylike in my opinion when she wants to at least..." She rubbed her eye and sighed. So he liked a gryffindor? Too bad his parents would disown him. Even with a halfblood he would be disowned. Poor guy. She looked down again when he kissed her hand. "I know who you are...You're Dani's older brother. I've heard of you alot of times before." She bit her lip before speaking again. "And you're also in my care of magical creatures class."
