Time for a drink

Calista looked shocked at the dog's forked tail but the dog was obviously well behaved. She petted him softly and said, "Does the dog have a name? He seems very well behaved and from what i can tell he is affectionate. But since i deal with muggles since i give lessons to them on riding it would be quite hard for the little guy like him to stay hidden for long." Calista thought more and more about it simply because she wanted a Crup just like the little one on the table but she didn't know if she could hide him for long. She wanted just one animal that was smart and that could help protect her when she needed it as well as it being very smart.

Jack smiled as the woman's face transformed as she took in the Crup's tail. She recovered and asked if he had a name. "Yeah, it's Cooper. We had to handle his registration papers, too." The woman explained her dealings with muggles and the complications that might prevent her from being able to own any magical creature like a Crup.

Jack nodded. "That does present a problem." She paused to scratch the Crup's ear, causing him to thump his foot rythmically against the table's hard wood. She smiled slightly and then looked up at the woman. "You may consider some sort of Kneazle hybrid. Kneazles are clever and territorial. They're just cats so they can't do much damage, but they have painful claws. Great rat hunters too."

Calista smiled as she said that his name was cooper, she loved dogs but she wasn't too fond of cats. "I really don't like cats though, i mean they are nice and sweet at times but they are very independent. Where dogs are concerned they come up to you no matter where you are, they are at the door when you come home. They are forever loyal and they are what i think the best pets. They are like a friend when you need one most and they seem to know when your sad or when your hurt."

Jack listened to the woman's words, grinning as she found she did agree. She had always been a dog person- hell, Ariel was proof of that. She pushed that from her mind, she would get awkward if she considered that too much. She grinned as she felt Jamison squirm awkwardly next to her- he hated dogs, so this conversation was all bad for him.

"I do agree with you," she said. "Not much magical dogs to look for though. Regular dogs could work. Kneazles can be too independent, I guess, but they are rather protective of their owners, I've found."

"Well i have a German shepherd his name is Jake and he acts more like a puppy than he does anything else. I would be afraid that the Kneazle would try to harm him because he'll run up and then crouch down like he wants to play. I haven't found a dog yet that actually likes being around Jake. He's a great dog and very protective of me but i want him to have a friend so that he's not lonely when i'm away from home for a while. I want another animal that is intelligent enough that will know not to harm him but would like to play as well." Calista said wanting to really find a friend for her dog that won't harm him seeing as she was the one who found him stuck in a well when he was a pup.
