"Honk, Honk!" Came the car that Silvyr had ran in front of. He waved to the car as it passed knowing that he might have picked a wrong time to cross two lanes. He started down the side walk looking at the street. Most every one else had been inside all day due to the rain but he wasn't fazed by it being there or not. He had been in the city for a few days roaming around from place to place just passing through. He couldn't wait to leave again though. It was beginning to make him feel stuffy and crowded every where he went and the people were driving him crazy.
He laughed at all the wizards walking around in front of the muggles clearly keeping their conversations hushed or on subjects they had no idea what the hell they were talking about. He had picked up a pretty good eye for spotting them out over the past year as he saw so many different people and judged them all. He began turning it into a game most of the time. He would see a business man walking down the street and he would judge if they were a wizard or not and then think up something they would say.
A business man was walking briskly with his umbrella and long leather coat. Silvyr started searching for simple signs such as the rolex on his wrist and the fancy rings of his previous college and grad schools, he thought to himself. "Muggle." In a dry monotone way. "Oh no, I'm dead if I don't make it to that meeting in three seconds." He counted to three in his head. The muggle was about to pass him when Silvyr turned and shouted in his ear. "You're Late!" The man jumped back angry he had disturbed him but Silvyr hadn't stopped. He heard a lot of curse words about his mom being shouted but he didn't mind. He thought to himself, "Gotta love em."
He turned the street corner and saw a coffee shop about a half a block down on the other side of the street. He hadn't planned on it but why not. Leah was probably asleep in his bed back at home and she would be content for the next few hours. The thought brought a smile to his face. As he walked next to the glass of the coffee shop a newspaper caught his eye. He had only seen a sliver of the top but he knew it wasn't muggle. He walked into the coffee shop and looked around not wanting catch the persons attention. He noticed the newspaper was now on the table and the girl that had been holding it was staring down at her cup.
He took the time to examine the woman lost in deep thought while his coffee was being made. He hadn't made a decision whether or not he liked her when the barista got his attention and spoke under his breath. "She's been sitting there a while so you better go talk to her soon." Silvyr grabbed his coffee and sat in the seat that sat across from her in her booth. He didn't want to scare her so he asked softly, "Anything bad happening in our world?" He was quite pleased with his open ended question knowing that if she were not a wizard she would probably think he was speaking pluraly.
