Follow me and you will not be lead astray

Silvyr heard the old bell ring as the door opened slowly. He led the door as Leah pranced through fearing only the smell of old dish rags and the smell of wizards stuck in their own ways.

Silvyr walked to the back of the bar to a booth that Leah had jumped into. She was sitting and looking at him with clear eyes.

He removed his coat and tossed it across the back of where Leah was sitting. He sat and waited for the waitress to appear. He was going to order his companion a drink before she arrived, though he realized she was right on time.

Mixed emotions filled his mind as he looked towards the door. Prompt. I like that.

He went through his normal thought process. Wand, mind, body. He was ready for anything. He stood and looked at the woman smiling as he greeted her.

Daphne reluctantly went through the doors, wrinkling her nose briefly before controlling her expression. It wasn't that she didn't like wizarding pubs. She loved them sometimes, but her real preference lay in modern muggle eateries and bars. Not because of the atmosphere, but muggles simply had standards - and more importantly - health codes. And ventilation. She glared at a wizard puffing away at a huge rank cigar as she passed, but he paid her no mind. Health codes, dammit.

She spotted Silvyr immediately, and smiled back as she reached him quickly, not sure whether to shake his hand, or hug him, or what. She settled for a pathetic little wave, busying herself with taking off her coat so she wouldn't look so at a loss. Setting it down, she shook her head at Leah, who thumped her tail a couple of times before going back to watching the other patrons. One point in favor of wizard pubs, at least where he's concerned, she thought ruefully, and sat down at the table, across from where he was when he first stood up.

"So tell me, what brings us out here on this lovely bitter winter night?" she asked lightly.

He spoke softly though he knew there was no real need to do so. No one would be listening here. It was exactly why he had chosen the bar. Daphne asked the question he had been expecting. "Let us begin." His thoughts chimed in.

He spoke in a normal tone now as he would any other night. "Well I believe your curiosity brought you here. Which makes my job that much easier. I asked you to join me tonight to hear what I have to offer you." He stopped to allow her to speak before he went on. "You are young and have an amazing opportunity at your door step. You will not be forced to do anything you do not wish to do, nor will you be known by the wizarding community. Your life will go on without change or problems. If you wish to know more then I will be happy to elaborate. I'm sure you have questions. People usually do." He finished, now allowing her to speak again.

She was young and had a mind that he was interested in. She would want to know the ins and outs, and he was willing to tell her as much as he could. Though somethings would be better left unsaid, until he knew everything he needed to about the young witch sitting in front of him.

The minute he said 'amazing opportunity' her brain shut down and she immediately thought of those scammers who would ask people to invest their hard earned money on some stupid product like a hoover with flashing lights or some cleaning solution they had to resell to recoup their ''investment''. That was only for a second though because he was still talking. She raised her eyebrows at what he said next, just a tiny bit disappointed. Sure she had a teensy crush on him in school but knew he'd never notice her, she was just some kid a year under him with no distinguished background. So he really did invite her here to talk. Still unsure, she waved her hand at him to continue, and lowered her face to look at her drink, taking a sip to collect her thoughts and stall her response.

What was he asking? Why would she need to keep her identity secret? Was he going to ask her to make a fake snuff film or some other kind of freakish porno? She thought he came from a good family but it goes to show you never know with some people. Disappointed now, she waited for more detail, keeping the bartender in view in her peripheral vision. He was polishing a dirty glass with an even dirtier rag. Fabulous. Suddenly her drink seemed less appealing.

A night she imagined to be drinks with some really hot guy who used some kind of 'situation he wanted to discuss with her' as an excuse to chat her up, turned into a guy inviting her out to ask her to do something that would most likely incriminate her if she got caught and at the very least was immoral, if not outright illegal.

Great. She really knew how to pick 'em.

When he realized she was waiting for him to continue, he began again. "You know how this world has seen tyrant after tyrant rise up to power. We work for years until we have cut the head off of the snake, only to watch another power hungry wizard or witch take his place. What if you could stop that process once and for all? Would you?" He stopped speaking allowing his soft words trail out. He had spoken from his heart but he didn't care. If he expected Daphne to consider joining him then he would have to take her seriously.

He continued on knowing he still owed her more. "We want to give the power to the people who deserve it. The people who don't have a voice but still have to live through the hard times that the wars have forced upon them. If everyone had the ability to take out Grindelwald don't you think they would? The 'we' that I speak of are witches and wizards working towards this goal already and as we speak. They are fighting for a world where small factions of good wizards don't have to fight in the shadows to make the wizarding world a better place. We will be the majority." His thoughts had finished as it was all he had left to say. He had spoken from his heart and that was all he needed to do.

If Daphne was interested then she would show it. If not then it seemed he had not only wasted his time but also his breath. He didn't mind to waist either of those possessions on potential ally's. He wanted her to join him. The people who always wanted the world to change the most were never willing to use their voice. It was time to get them off the bench and into the game....

Oh, goody. It just got better and better. She might be gullible but Daphne wasn't out and out stupid. No risk? Who was he kidding. He was talking about a revolution, and she wasn't sure she wanted her blood to be what greased the gears of change.

Almost immediately she was ashamed of herself. Despite being a coward at heart, who else wanted change more than her? Who was the one going to the pubs every payday, joining the small discontented huddles whinging and B**** about the world today? Not him. While she was complaining, he was organizing.

She bit her lip, still thinking. Something still made her uneasy about all of this. A part of her still worried about being set up but dismissed it. After all, these days all a pureblood had to do was point a finger at anyone of a different bloodline, no need for all of this subterfuge.

"You want to give power to those that deserve it...Who decides who deserves it? You? You're going to have to tell me a bit more before I commit to anything, because I have the feeling once I say yes, there's not going back. What are we talking about here? Is this some kind of one-time full frontal assault - winner take all, or are we just going to be passing notes after class?"

Neither prospect appealed to her, but his response would be telling. It would decide her path for her right then and there, though she probably wouldn't have thought of it in those words.

Silvyr regained himself enough to keep his head in the conversation. He watched Daphne's reaction to his words and kept up with her questions already have answers to each as they were followed by another. He was making sure she got her chance to speak before answering.

When she stopped and now sat waiting for his response he proceeded. They were on the same page now and he wanted to keep the conversation going in that direction.

He spoke with ease and some strength in his voice, "Who would you give power to Daphne? Who do you think deserves it? It's not my decision to say who gets more power than anyone else. Or who deserves to lead while others go back to the way things were. This is going to be a collective task given to everyone. We will all be held accountable for the world we live in and those who try and destroy it." He looked at her with piercing eyes.

"Now I'm no fool. I know that there will be need for a government, but it will be like nothing we have ever seen. Positions of power will go back to the towns and people who see day in and day out the real side of life. Officials who sit in a building, such as the ministry, looking out at the wizarding worlds problems like a spreading disease will be put to an end. The world will become stronger and connected through relationships that are woven together from city to city and person to person. Problems will be addressed immediately and the happiness of the masses will be put first." He stopped speaking to allow Daphne to take in everything he had said.

He knew that it would take time, effort, and free thinking minds to accomplish such a task. That was exactly why he was here. He needed witches and wizards who were unattached to the disfunctional ways of the past. He needed people like Daphne by his side to make a difference.

She was almost mesmerized by his speech. Completely convinced, also, but maybe not for the reasons he wanted. Being that he was ahead of her at school, they never really spent time together, so this was the first time she was really exposed to his manner of speaking. From mysterious and almost as sneaky as a used broom salesman, he had become some kind of role model for the future. She leaned in and grinned wickedly.

"What do you want me to do first?"

At this point, she frankly didn't care if he was planning a one man dictatorship, or a cult following with himself as the figure head.
Simply listening to his visions, whether real or catered to appeal to her, was all it took. His sincerity, his passion, his charisma...he was a born leader, or at least a born recruiter.
Frankly she didn't care what he was leading up to, she knew if he dealt with everyone the way he dealt with her just now, he'd be well on his way to whatever he was trying for.

And she intended to be right there by his side when he got it.
