It seemed like any other normal day, well for someone who was human. But for Alexis there was never a day that was 'normal'. Nothing could ever be normal for the eighteen year old girl. Even if she seemed normal, graduating, a job at the Ministry, living by herself. Things a normal teenager, starting out in real life would do. She had nothing to do today though.
A day off, what was sh supposed to do? Most of her life now revolved around her work as a Being Specialist and today she couldn't go to work. She had been given the day off, and she didn't have anything planned. Maybe she would get an idea from just being out and abound. So now Alexis was out on the streets looking for something to do. The streets were crowded, she had no idea how people could walk in the crowds that always seemed to be there.
Suddenly, Alexis saw a book land at her feet and she stopped walking. Luckily there was no one quite around her at that moment and everyone just kept walking while she looked down at the book. She saw someone coming toward her in a hurry, probably to pick up the book, and she leaned over, picking it up. She looked at for a moment in her hands before holding it out to the guy coming for it.
"This is yours I believe?" she said softly, managing a small smile as she held the book to him. She wasn't sure if she did good in picking the book up, or if he wanted it stay on the ground. Either way she had picked it up, so no regretting it now. Even if it would've been something kind of lame to regret anyways.
