Reflections (Matt)

Once more Jess found himself sitting on one of the benches at the Garden of Solace, gazing out blankly at a patch of... well, what was nothingness, but to him was a pile of memories - memories he didn't want to have, memories he was eager to forget.

But he wasn't one to mope, not at all, he wasn't sitting there with his head in his hands, his shoulders heaving; he wasn't there wallowing in self pity, he was just reflecting on the past 6 months.

He was also waiting, funny how that slipped his mind, waiting for an old friend to meet him here.

Matthew walked through the garden. It was a nice enough place, but he wasn't one for flowery stuff. Plus it was pretty quiet so it would be a nice place for him to think if he needed to. He was supposed to meet Jess Potter at this garden. As a final request from Matthew Lestrange he was to tell Jess about his death. He wasn't sure how he was going to break it to him. He seemed like a rather close friend to him and he didn't really handle emotions well.

He saw a man that fit the description of Jess. "Excuse me, you're Jess Potter correct?" he asked and walked up to him. "Sorry to interrupt your train of thought."

Jess' head shot up as an unfamiliar voice disturbed the near silence of the Garden and identified its target as none other than himself.

The man was standing with the sun at his back so Jess found himself squinting as he looked up, his hand rising to sit above his brow in an attempt to block out some of the glare, before he finally acknowledged what the stranger had said.

"Yes, I am," he responded slowly, his eyes raking the newcomer as he struggled to determined whether or not he posed any sort of threat to his being.

"You can keep calm, I'm just hear to pass on some information is all." he told him as he walked closer and looked at him. It was quiet for a moment, he almost didn't want to break the silence. This man seemed rather tough though and strong however. So there probably wasn't going to be too many emotions flying around. "Were you close friends with a Matt Lestrange?" he asked finally. He could see the man tense up at the name, he knew this was going to be rough for him.

Jess' ears sharpened at the sound of Matt's name, the memory of his friend ringing true to his mind, and a feeling of extreme apprehension cutting through his gut with the ice cold stab of what could only be described as fear.

Afraid of losing any sort of appearance he held with the man Jess decided to keep his expression as stone-like as possible, and his lips sealed shut, knowing that these would be the things to betray him if what he suspected was true. Instead he merely nodded, jerked his head really, and continued to stare at the stranger in front of him.

"Who are you," he added, curiosity taking the better of him and overwhelming his self control ever so slightly.
