Jack was not in her element. She belonged in the Deparment for Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. However, today she found herself in the Auror's office, even though she was fairly sure she did not have the authorization to be in the branch of the Deparment of Magical Law Enforcement. Then again, Jack had never been one for sticking to her jurisdiction. Which was precisely why she was here today.
So this is where I would have worked if I'd listened to my teachers, she thought to herself. Plently of her professors had suggested she pursue a career as an Auror, but all of the protocol had always turned Jack off of the idea. Still, it was interesting to see the other side of the fence.
She was here for an official reason, and then for her unoffical, self-appointed purpose. Of course, she wanted to find which Auror had taken a lead on Vito's case and see if they could start 'working together.' And then she was in charge of seeing if anyone knew anything about Zada Forbes or her Russian shadow.
She strode over to a secretary, saying "Could I see an Auror, preferably one who has knowledge of Vito Dee Symons?" The secretary flipped through a small journal and nodded, leaving Jack to lean against the secretary's desk while she waited.
