Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

What a nice day, Ginny thought. She had been staying at the Three Broomsticks since her house had been destroyed in the duel. Nothing was her's anymore but her little room upstairs. She ordered some coffee from the bar and waited at a table. People started pile in. [i]This early in the morning?[i], she thought with an annoyed look across her face. The waitress brought her coffee to her table. "Where's the sugar?!" Ginny asked irritably, "I thought I'd never see the day where you have to ask for sugar in coffee!" The waitress gave her a disgusted look. When she came back, the waitress through the small packet of sugar on the table rudely. "Here have a tip!" said Ginny and she poured the coffee right into the waitresses hand. "Bye."

The tables were getting crowded and the noise level was getting louder. Ginny rolled her eyes. She had been crabby since her house was destroyed and screaming kids definitely weren't going to help it. Ginny spotted a young "girl" who was standing up with no table. Everyone had pushed right through her. She snapped at the "girl" to come over to her table. Ginny actually felt bad for "her"!

Sabriel shifted, uncomfortable. He cradled an arm as he was overcome with trepidation. It was his nose that found interest in the place, truly. His feet simply followed suit. But it was a bad idea; it seemed that he was not the only one with the destination in mind. Like a small child, he had allowed the scent of buttermilk pancakes and delicious spices to carry him into the diner. He'd read the name displayed out front, 'The Three Broomsticks'. And even as he stepped into the threshold, an absolute swarm of Wizards and Witches brushed passed him and swept him along, before finally depositing him somewhere near the counter.

Sabriel felt even more like a little child, very out of place among the bustling adults, all seeing fit to grab their morning coffee and set out. Those that were inclined to stay quickly filled up any remaining seats. No one really paid much mind to an insignificant little thing such as him. And even as Sabriel saw a few nearby that were vacant, he was quickly shoved out the way toward his goal. So he stood there, famished, waiting pliantly for someone -- anyone -- to finish their meal and allow to sit. The smells were all around him, making him dizzy. He was starving, really. His mother might be looking for him.

He was standing there, looking absolutely pathetic, for a good minute. Suddenly, a voice caught his attention. A woman with fiery red hair was beckoning him over for a seat. Gratefully, Sabriel took up her offer. He found it easier to maneuver than before, as everyone that had basically trampled over him now had a seat. Finally, he took a seat across from her.

"Thank you," he said quietly, gratefully. "You really did not have to .."

Ginny smirked and put the empty coffee mug down. "It's common courtesy. What's your name?" she asked. Ginny didn't want to mistake the girl.... or boy on it's gender. It would be rude to do that and pretty embarrassing to him. "Do you want anything? I'll put it on my tab." She snapped at the stupid waitress to hurry to her table and get another order right. "What will you and the girl have?" the waitress screamed annoyed.

Ginny just started at the kid waiting for her to order. "I'll have another cup of coffee if you can get it right this time, okay?" she said to her with an eyebrow cocked up.

"Bacon and eggs," Sabriel replied uncomfortably. "And although I do not blame you for coming to that conclusion, I am not a girl." He was vexed, and it laced his tone; what had given this woman such an attitude? He did not -- he was sure he did not -- do anything to disgruntle her in any way. Why had she snapped at them?

Sabriel glanced apologetically at the woman. "My name is Sabriel," he said. "And thank you, but I do have money to pay. You have already done a huge favor by allowing me to sit."

Mental Note: It's a boy, Ginny thought. The waitress raised her eyebrows and walked away. "I'm Ginny. And I'm sorry for how rude the waitress was." The waitress came back minutes later. "Bacon and eggs for the boy," she put up air quotes, "And your coffee. Enjoy!" Ginny rolled her eyes. "I'm not drinking this so you really wasted your time." The waitress continued to the next table.

"What house are you in?" Ginny asked. She was wondering this since she had saw him. "And save your money. There's no need to spend it here." Ginny smiled. Sabriel seemed pissed at the waitress.

Sabriel returned the smile. "Um, thank you .. And about the waitress, it was not your fault at all." He felt guilty for not paying, though. But Ginny was an adult. "I do not quite know what made her behave in such a way. She must not be having a fair morning."

He slumped in his seat. His gray eyes taking in the girl's flaming hair and charming green eyes. It was unlike his pale blonde locks and silvery ones. "I am a Ravenclaw," Sabriel said. "I was actually with my mother, but I wandered .. and so I ended up here."

Briefly he wondered how long the food would take. He hoped the waitress's grudge did not bypass her duty. He would hate for his food to contain something .. unsavory.
