"Sorry, Professor," he said, rather sheepishly. "I know its early, but...I needed to see you. Its important. You'll probably give me detention anyway." He invited himself in to the professor's office without invitation and closed the door. He looked back at the professor. "I...I'm not sure where to begin. I have a new guardian this year, and he told me never to tell anyone that my guardian changed or who he is. But...I dont' really have a choice now, I don't think. I think you've met him. My new guardian is Robert Lupin, and, well, I've been acting on his behalf this school year. I've run across something that somehow I need to get to someone who knows what to do with it."
He didn't tell Wilson he'd been stealing, but Wilson was far from stupid either. He opened his school cloak and got out the large leatherbound journal that he had taken from Zada Forbes' quarters before she had moved to the South Tower. He suspected that his theft might be at least partly responsible for that.
"I was hoping...maybe Robert might find use for it. It...seemed important, and, well, most of these are not even in the restricted section in the library." Then he realized he had just confessed to Wilson he'd broken into the restricted section too. What else was he about to blurt out to him? He sighed heavily, feeling more than busted.
