Professor Lyons entered Ravenclaw Common Room for the first time since she had become headmistress. It was a curious situation, being responsible for so many positions at once. She had been thinking lately that she really would need to consider appointing a new Head of Ravenclaw House in order to avoid perceived favoritism - though she was too practical to play undue favorites - but the time hadn't come yet. Her title was still too new to be enacting policy. For now, she was just a fresh face, the youth that the school needed to put forward to accomplish its PR mission.
Not wanting to waste time, the former Ravenclaw approached the poster board and pulled down the piece of parchment that contained her task: the quidditch sign ups. The roster was nearly full, much to Amelia's amazement, but she supposed if the House was to participate in quidditch there would need to be enough daredevils to make a full team. She noted that only one student had indicated her interest in fulfilling the captain's position, so Amelia pulled a quill from her pocket and circled Evalyn Avalon's name, making a mental note to owl her immediately so she would be aware of her new tasks as team captain.
The rest is up to her... Amelia thought gratefully, happy to have one more thing crossed off her list of things to do. Unfortunately, however, ever since becoming headmistress, that list never did get completed. For every task she accomplished, there were three more added. And there didn't seem to be an end in sight.
