Frank really only worked part time as an Auror now, as he had taken on the job at St Mungos as Director of Mental Health Services. His work there had yet to officially commence, so he was still working quite a bit at the Ministry. They were in the middle of decreasing his hours so he was in this awkward stage of not having a full time job but having more than a part time job as well. It was sort of awkward but in due time, he was sure it would be better.
He did not want to say he had checked out... But he was very obviously distracted. Hard not to be with everything going on. And he had been worrying about Rise lately. She claimed she was not returning and Alice was backing that up, but he and his father and mother had been insisting in their letters to her that they wanted her to return.
So, yes, he was already distracted as he walked inside the Ministry so it was not really all that surprising that he and someone exiting collided. He heard an apology as drink sploshed all over him, but he pulled out his wand and with a quick flourish, cleared it. He began to grumble back when he looked up and saw the unmistakable face of Ginny Potter. "Oh!" he said. He smiled at her- the Longbottoms were close with the Potters as well as the Weasleys and Scamanders. "Hi, Ginny! I heard you were joining the Aurors!"
