This afternoon, Felix Barker was cleared of all of the charges held against him. In the past few weeks, Grindelwald employed a small force of investegators to look into the dealings of the officials in office before his term. He find that there was not only insufficient evidence of Barker's crimes, but a conflict of interest in the name of one Khaat Lupin. Jess Potter was also considered a conflict, having had personal conflict with Barker.
It is a wonder that the trial went through. Regardless of proof, there was gross misconduct and it is being considered a mistrial. Barker does have to be punished for his escape of Askaban, but the punishment is probation and he paid a small fine, seeing as he was wrongfully place in the prison in the first place.
A Ministry official said, "I never thought he got a fair case, in all honesty, and regardless of what you believe he did or did not do, he has his rights. I hope people are mature enough to leave his fiancee and himself alone so they can find their place in society."
