Chase realized what he wanted, and immediately she crawled back into bed with him, pulling him to her, and holding him close. "Shhhh... it's okay Calvin... It's okay.. I'm here.." She said softly, holding onto him. It had been to long since she had been able to say that, say ANYTHING to him for that matter. To long indeed. She had been so cold, and distance, that having him right there, pressed up against her, and even though he was upset, and in pain, he was with her, and that was what mattered to Chase.
"Shhh.." She hummed softly, and held him close "It's okay Calvin." She whispered, as though talking to a child, but she knew that he was no child, he was hers.. and hers only. He was her life, her future, her strength, and her greatest weakness as well. He was the world to her, and she didn't want him hurt. So she held him close, curled up with him in bed, her hair falling over his shoulder as she tucked his head in close to her chest and let him listen to her heart beat, trying to calm him down, trying to get him to stay with her, to focus on something, the vibrations deep in her chest from her humming slowed, and then stopped, until the only sound in the room was their breathing, and Calvin's sniffling.
