The Order of the Phoenix is a secret society founded by Albus Dumbledore to oppose Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters. Dumbledore formed the Order to combat Voldemort's increasing threat and power. Aurors from the Ministry of Magic also joined the Order to participate in more secretive, sudden assaults aimed to crush the Dark Rebellion. The order vanished upon Voldemorts disappearance.

During the Second Wizarding War, the Order was the major source of resistance against Voldemort. Its members were involved in all the major battles against Voldemort and his Death Eaters. The Order suffered a major setback at the death of its leader, Albus Dumbledore. It suffered another major setback when Voldemort took control of the Ministry. Although the Order managed to keep the death eaters away from Hogwarts, it suffered huge losses, and failed to keep Harry Potter alive.

Although the Order had defended Hogwarts, the rest of the Wizarding World soon fell into darkness and the Order slowly died out, it's former glory all but disappearing. Finally, when a ray of hope emerged the Order quickly grew, before taking Voldemort on the unawares and defeating him a final time.

Though they were in power for a long time following that, as is always the case, it fell into disarray again, betrayals rocked the very foundations of the group, and soon it had died out once more.

Once again it's beginning to rise in power, but it lacks guidance and purpose, will the Order be able to overcome its issues and re-enter it's former glorious state, or will it fail to throw off the shackles of the past and be dragged down by them?
