She really should have known better. Foolishly though, at the sound of her less than preferred name, Millie turned. She narrowed her eyes at the sight of a familiar Slytherin and blinked as she felt something poking into her stomach. “Well, aren’t you a brave little boy?” She hissed. “Get your wand away from me now before I shove it up your arse.” She commanded of him, a feeling of dread welling within her at the idea that her threats would do her little good. David Avery was, in short, a psychopath, and Millie knew better than to deal with these ones unless it was from afar. She had yet to come in contact with the other psychopath of Slytherin - Mr. Darius Ryan Flint - and she had no intention of doing so. No, Avery unnerved her, as did all of the Slytherins, and she knew that she was better off out in the rain away from him than she was as close as he was to her. No, she wouldn’t be properly safe unless she was with Trent.
Millie’s eyes widened and she glanced at the worker, imploring with him silently to tell Avery ‘no’. She wanted breakfast, not a discussion with some no-god Slytherin about Merlin only knew what. Millie didn’t want to know. She wasn’t a Pureblood and she wasn’t Avery’s problem until she got her hands on her wand or some black powder. Then, he would have every reason to take his wand out on her. She was saddled with The Trace still but she was sure her father would ferry the reports out in due time. She wanted Avery as far away from her as worldly possible at that moment and, more importantly, she wanted her breakfast. She was hardly in the mood for his arrogance. She couldn’t come up with wit on an empty stomach.
“Actually,” Millie replied airily. “Keep the tip but I want my coffee and my food now,” The worker blinked and nodded before hurriedly fetching her things. Millie smirked at Avery. “You’ll have to use that pretty little wand of yours, sweetheart, if you want me outside. I didn’t come to see you, I came for breakfast. Now unless you want my company here, in this room, then I’m sorry but you can have the back alley to yourself darling.”
But he was already walking away and Millie’s interest was piqued just as he had wanted it to be. She shifted uncomfortably from one foot to the other before murmuring for the worker to hold her order and going in search of David. Millie slipped into the back room and glared at him, hands on her hips. Her wand was in the back pocket of her shorts thankfully so there was no way that, if it came down to it, she wouldn’t be able to defend herself. Millie cocked an eyebrow at him and parted her scarlet lips, wondering what it was he wanted of her. “So you’ve been thinking of me have you? Why on earth would you be doing that? Surely you have better things to be doing with your time. I haven’t got time for this Avery, now spit it out because I have places to be and people to see.”
