What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

A whisper on the wind - Page 3 Empty Re: A whisper on the wind

Post by Ne'Os Emof Thu Jul 28, 2011 10:44 pm

Ne'Os remained emotionless as Grindelwald aimed his wand at the wizard Zada had invited. He hoped Grindelwald would just kill the old wizard and be done with it but of course he was disappointed. Ne'Os would not have been so easy to trust the old man and would have done what he needed to make sure the man wasn't a threat to the current situation.

Ne'Os smiled at Grindelwald when he said Ne'Os wasn't to be trusted, of course he was right Ne'Os had one goal and that was power and if that meant someday he would have to kill Grindelwald to get it then he wouldn't bat an eye when he did it. "you should keep an eye open if Voldemort did he wouldn't be dead right now" he said quietly almost to himself his smile looking colder and colder by the second. Of course Ne'Os was loyal and would do what ever was asked of him but there is always a time when loyalty failed to benefit both parties and it would be at that time when Ne'Os would either leave or try to move up in the ranks of the dark wizards.

He felt he would have no reason to remain after Grindelwald left while he knew everyone should get to know each other he felt the best way to do so was to learn how they fought and how they reacted to changing situations he didn't care about their pasts. He gave Grindelwald a small nod to show he was going to stay he was interested in learning what his plan was.

A whisper on the wind - Page 3 Empty Re: A whisper on the wind

Post by Felix Barker Fri Jul 29, 2011 5:05 am

Felix's attention was caught once more when Grindelwald spoke up, and told them all to shut up. Felix wasn't really caring either way how this went.. he knew his answer to Grindelwald in whatever the story played out. Grindelwald had saved him, he had a debt to pay, it was as simple as that, besides the fact that he did approve of his methods, and would like to help him in his conquest, it wasn't really power Felix was after, it was more his own personal pleasure of getting the resources to help and do what he wanted in this war.. instead of having to go after brats that he didn't care about, and was constantly mocked for having. It seemed when you took in one underage wizard, the countless aurors you had killed was completely overshadowed. It seemed like a cave full of tortured and dead Aurors who had families, and lives, weren't enough for this crowd... and the fact that he had a girlfriend who was a werewolf, and was currently housing a fifteen year old, completley covered up the fact that he had run from the Ministry for weeks before getting caught.

Felix let his eyes rest on the man who had randomly showed up, and he sighed. Gate crashers.. how boring. Somehow he had known there would be at least one... special thanks to Zada... and of course Ne'Os was pointed out for being untrustworthy, anyone who killed a Dark Wizard was no friend of Felix's... let alone Voldemort himself. it certainly didn't feel right to be in his presence at all. Of course then there were the girls... both of them just wanted in Grindelwalds pants.. and were probably totally convinced they were in love with him, ready to do his every bidding. Especially Zada.. she was practically throwing herself at his feet, trying to make herself look way more important then she obviously was.

Felix listened as Grindelwald spoke, and then nodded slowly. "You have my support.." He said simply, and let himself fall back into the background, fading out of the view again, watching once more. It was obvious that the people here were only here because Grindelwald had heard of them.. not one of them had what it took, Felix may not have done very well in proving himself in battle.. but not every dark person needed to have a stunning battle prestige in order to make themselves known.. there were people who actually almost appreciated the subtle art of torture, and it was obvious that Grindelwald was one of them, besides.. how many of these people could rightfully boast that they had kidnapped, and tortured Khaat Lupin, Elijah Krum, and countless aurors, and was still alive to tell the tale? Not a single one of these people, that was for sure, except Grindelwald for sure, and for that.. he had Felix's respect.

((Hey guys. I'm really sorry.
For one thing, the magic is ruined. Grindy is primarily played by me. Shock horror :O

But also I'm having technical issues right now. Seriously, my battery has been on 0% for the last 20 mins... but I'll make this my top priority next time I'm online, I swear. In the meantime once the plan is revealed I'll be relying on you all to discuss it amongst yourselves, and not depend totally on my activity for this to keep moving Smile

Post by Alan Wake Sun Jul 31, 2011 8:32 pm

Alan Wake generally preferred to avoid meetings such as this. He preferred one-to-one conversations on subjects that specifically pertained to him and his interests. Instead, his interest in ensuring Grindelwald's mortal presence in this realm had only lead to more and more such meetings... Alan Wake apparated to Nuremgard at an appropriately late hour. He would have no excuses, but that he had little need to be present for this meeting. He calmly climbed the stairwell (it would've appeared that the caretakers had already been charmed), and stepped onto the rooftop with little in the way of "difficulty."

How rather... bland. He oftened enjoyed long walks, but such walks in areas such as London often provided a further chance to delve into the daily lives of human beings and their interactions with one another. Many philosophers postulated that human beings, at their core instinct, were little more than animals. But for all of his years, Alan was often confounded by the comparison. Animals do not place material worth on immaterial goods, for instance. Yet, men and women alike threw themselves upon the gears and levers of terribly inadequate social functions, neglect their own health, and even surrender the inherent happiness of a mate to pursue a dream.

Ah, dreams. How else could man progress? What unobtainable goal could better suit the kicking and scrambling and bickering and squawking that permeated the world? It was rarely the smart who are recorded in history. The smart were only aware of the risks. The persistent ones were the ones where were recorded. That, in and of itself, was the ultimate irony of the world. Character was what made the man, not intelligence. Alan Wake rarely met such individuals.

He only attended these meetings to measure and gauge Gellert Grindelwald's character. Thus far, he had yet to be impressed. Perhaps it was due to the company he had elected to keep. The Death Eaters had only squandered their chances before, and Grindelwald had barely proven his identity to the world. Alan didn't doubt his identity for a second, but he kept a healthy amount of curiosity about the man's true ability.

Perhaps now, in the company of strangers, the man's worth would be proven to Alan Wake.

"Good evening," the ancient "man" said, though his face indicated now such positive attitude to back this statement up. "It would appear that I have interrupted something. Do not mind my presence, do continue," he continued, noting the weapons drawn and the tensity shrilling through the wind.

Post by Zerekiah Misericordia Sun Jul 31, 2011 11:42 pm

“Why don’t you go out and leave this assembly, seems that you really not welcome here?” Zerekiah's thought to himself. An immediate inner rush of annoyance washed through Zerek, this feeling closely followed by desire to utter a rather final and terse “No! I cant! This is my chance to show my loyalty to Dark Wizards.”

Zerek knew such a dismissal usually was sufficient for his negative thoughts to back off and leave him be. Unfortunately on that long ago day, things did not seem to be unfolding according to the usual script and pattern. Zerekiah was now feeling his heart rate increase upon hearing the increasing intense of discussion about his presence.

As the discussion became more intense, Zerekiah silently thought for a diversion, some interest that would draw the magicians' discussion toward other topics that is not about him.

As Zerekiah soon discovered, and very much to his dismay, his guess and his affirmations both proved lacking as Grendelwald pointed his wand to him. Zerekiah was shocked but chose to calm down and said to his master respectfully, " There can be no higher pleasure to serve you my Lord, I will do anything you wish me to do."

A whisper on the wind - Page 3 Empty Re: A whisper on the wind

Post by Gellert Grindelwald Mon Aug 01, 2011 6:54 pm

Gellert remembered why he had worked so hard on eradicating a large population of the human race. He hated them. Even now, they seemed so petty. Zada seemed to be brooding and looking daggers at those around her, Felix seemed irritated that he was surrounded by people, Ne'Os would not stop talking, this Zereikiah fellow was assuming a few words would help him, Mikki was simply waiting to hear him speak.

Alan Wake and Vincent joined. Both men had power but also understood chain of commands fairly well, so Gellert simply allowed his depthless eyes to flicker onto each man's face to recognize him. "Are we all done? I suggested a meeting- if you were expecting a tea party, I apologize, and I would hope we are not reduced to attacking each other. If we are already so keen to dominate each other we will never dominate anyone else. I called you here because I thought you to be the few I do not consider to be fools. In this instance, do not prove me wrong."

He turned and faced the entire group now, looking at all of them. "The Ministry will be ours. And thus, Hogwarts. Adults are fine for our army, but the best place to look is in the moldable mind of a child. Mikki learned young, and rarely have I seen such devotion. Her uncle is the same, as was her mother. If you get to the children, you get to a family line. We start with the Ministry to begin running things our way first."

He looked around at all of them. "I expect you all to take Ministry positions to aide me. Any position you think that can help my transition into power. I will be creating new ones, such as the Office of Discipline at Hogwarts. If you know of any positions you would like let me know. But for now, look into Law Enforcement and Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. We need to be able to shuffle paperwork to keep our men working and we need someone who can get direct ties to centaurs, giants, trolls, etcetera. What do you think? Can you all do this?"

A whisper on the wind - Page 3 Empty Re: A whisper on the wind

Post by Felix Barker Mon Aug 01, 2011 7:09 pm

Felix watched the proceeding silently, taking in what was going on, trying to learn things about them to write into his book of names. A book of names that had been started his first year of Hogwarts, and he still added to, to this day. Everything from a description of what they looked like, from a picture, to just words, to where they worked, and their families. And having been worked on for so long, he had 8 books in total, filled. One for each year at Hogwarts, and one specifically for Adults, and people out of Hogwarts that he met. He would not hesitate adding these people to his list as well. It helped to keep people straight, and in line not only in his head, but helped him to not make a mistake when working around people, if he knew what they were like beforehand, he could better guess their decisions on the spot.

When Grindelwald suggested they get a job in the Ministry, he coughed slightly and frowned. "Sir..." He said bowing his head slightly before looking up at him. "I'm afraid as of my current standing right now... A ministry position is quite out of my reach.." He said, talking about the 10,000 galleon reward on his head at that very moment. "Unless I were to pull a Barty Crouch Jr. and use polyjuice potion every hour until you get control of the Ministry, then is there not something else I can do to serve you?" He asked, his head slightly bowed, but still up far enough to show that he had a will of his own. He gave into Grindelwald, but sometimes his own pride stuck out a bit to far.

Post by Ne'Os Emof Wed Aug 03, 2011 8:22 am

Ne'Os smiled when Grindelwald suggested they take positions at the ministry as it just so happened he had gotten a job there the day before he worked in the department for the regulation and control of magical creatures as a spirit specialist. It was rather lucky for him as he not only had the inside access but he could now actively continue his plans for the ministry, he felt maybe at some point he should let Grindelwald into the loop but at the same time felt that it could be dangerous.

He couldn't help but chuckle a little bit when Felix made a excuse for why he couldn't serve he gave him a amused look "Forgive me for interrupting but Felix don't you think being the smart man you are that you could figure this out for yourself i for one have kidnapped some nobody and have landed a job at the ministry wearing his face and using his wand and i didn't need to ask the teacher for help" he said in a rude sarcastic way indicating to Grindelwald when he said teacher. He chuckled as the words he had just spoken replayed in his head he found it rather amusing the stupidity some of the dark wizards showed.

He turned back to Grindelwald and gave him a look that suggested he was giving Grindelwald his full attention yet again.

A whisper on the wind - Page 3 Empty Re: A whisper on the wind

Post by Gellert Grindelwald Wed Aug 03, 2011 8:54 am

Gellert had turned to address Felix when Ne'Os spoke. Now he was angry. Ne'Os seemed to speak for the sake of speaking. Gellert's eyes flashed as his eyes turned towards Ne'Os and off of Felix. He waited in a way that seemed patient until Ne'Os finished, at which he raised an eyebrow and growled out a singular word, "Done?"

It was very obvious Gellert was becoming more and more displeased. Everyone here was vying for power- those who vied for power would not recieve it. Those who acted for it silently and obediently would receive more than they could care to think to do with. Leadership was not position, but action- Gellert was a firm believer in that. Most of those around him, however, thought it had something to do with the loudest mouth.

"Forgive me for correcting," he said, his repition mocking Ne'Os, "but Ne'Os, don't you think a capable man such of myself knows how to handle such a situation. What I designate for you may be very different than what I designate for Felix, and in the future, you will be sure to mind your tongue and your place and not answer questions you do not know the answer to."

He turned towards Felix. "Your work has done wonders. Of everyone here, I would say it has been the most effective as of late. You are the most widely known and feared at the moment. The risk of sending you to the Ministry is the risk of losing you forever amongst our ranks, and your preceding reputation is a large asset, regardless of what other's assume." His eyes flashed towards the others. He had sensed hostility towards Felix. But as Felix was here on his inviation he obviously had right to be, and certainly more right than those uninvited like Zerekiah and those who has little to their name.

"If we find our influence is inadequate, I will ask you to do as Ne'Os so rashly assumed to explain and take up a position while needed. However, if you were to continue on your spree, possibly spread it and cause an alarming increase to distract Aurors, that could be what helps us. As I move in, I could put special agents on the case, you could take a dry spell, and then more power could be consolidated. From there, your targets will be much more specified so that it does not seem that we are out of control. Understand?"
