Having a ton of homework to do, Kaily thought it best to get started on the work instead of drawing the lake. Either way since the homework was easy, she would be back to drawing the lake in no time. She placed the pad next to her, and rummaged around in her bag, once again, looking for her potions book. All she had to do was study the ingredients for a specific potion she already knew and had tried to make before. It was a simple potion, but she lacked confidence and she gave up very quickly, without even testing it. She looked in the book and read through the ingredients quickly and carefully, and once again picked up her sketch pad, not wanting to do anymore work.
The pad was the only thing she found enjoyment in. She could express herself on paper in ways she couldn't do anywhere else. She couldn't play any sports, being to weak and fragile to even run most of the time. She thought she was a disappointment to her father since she couldn't do anything he wanted her to. The only real talent she had was drawing and painting.
