What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Okay, now that I've got your attention....

As you can see, I've been making (pretty awesome) signatures.
HOWEVER....
I am somewhat bored of the texts I have as they're boring...
AND HERE'S THE THING....
I know there are free downloadable texts....
BUT....
I have no idea how to download 'em into my fonts...
SO...
I need ya'll to give me like a tutorial or write it in easy steps on how to do this. THANKS!!

All you need to do is copy the fonts into the font part of your computer. So if you go into the control panel and select fonts, that is where you paste them. Then, just restart GIMP and they should all be there. It goes to every part of your computer so they'll be in MS Word. I usually use that if I can't remember what fonts I have. :3

If you've got a mac, you need to click the download button (make sure you choose the mac file), download the font, unzip it, and then it should open in font book automatically with a little popup that shows you what the font looks like. Just hit the install button at the bottom of that.

I have a PC and guys you're not really helping, I've seen and read all of this before, but I don't know how to unzip a file for a start. I really need a step-by-step guide. I mean, the things you've told me, yeah, I've read these things but it doesn't help me!

To unzip a file, you need to download WinRAR. It's free. Basically you have to install that and download a .zip file(if that is what you are talking about.) As soon as you do that, you right click it and it should say 'unzip here' or 'unzip ...' or something. Then you get what you want.

Okay, zipping is a way of compressing a file so it takes up less space and is faster to transfer between computers.

To unzip it, you need to locate the unzipping application on your computer, or download one off the net. Just google "unzip" and you'll get heaps of results.

I don't actually know how unzipping works on a PC. My unzipping app does it automatically, but you ought to be able to open the application and choose which file you want to unzip from within its menu.

Okay, I may have to do this, as whenever I click on a downloaded file, on the zip part, it starts flashing a blank net page on and off at me and I can't stop it unless I turn off my computer....Even when I went and downloaded from a different site!

Download winzip?

Edit: Actually, I use the free edition of WinRAR. It was confusing at first, but I eventually learnt how to use it.

I don't know if this is just a Windows 7 thing but I doubt it. If you right click the zip then you should be able to find something on the dropdown menu-thing that says Extract All. Just use that and your font will come out of the zip folder and into whichever folder you sent it to (usually it is whatever folder the zip is in)
