Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Boredom Led To This? Empty Boredom Led To This?

Yumi walked to the Owlery, with a bored expression as usual. She was always bored, or it seemed like that to her. She needed something to happen, or she wanted to at least make new friends or enemy. But it seemed like that wouldn't happen soon. She was bored of being in the common room and she didn't feel like going outside. It was a bright day, and Yumi only wanted to be in the dark. She could have stayed in the common room, but she wanted to be somewhere new, somewhere she hadn't been often.

She walked into the Owlery and looked at all the owls flying around. They seemed to want to get out, and fly away. Yumi felt the same way, she wanted to get away from Hogwarts for a little while. But she knew it wouldn't be the best thing to do at the time. She looked at one owl, a brown and gray one, and wondered who it belonged to. It seemed uncared for, and it looked like it was sad.

Boredom Led To This? Empty Re: Boredom Led To This?

The air smelt sweet; the clouds had stopped weeping for a single day, allowing the sun to bask all of London in its rays, and that distinct smell of nature was overwhelming. Perhaps that was the reason Nerissa Hatts had left her corner in Hogwarts’ greenhouse, where she spent every moment of her time speaking to and caring for the plants that lived there. It had taken quite a long time for Nerissa to convince herself that her friends would not be harmed if she left them for an hour or so- a fear that was quite rational after that dark evening when a pair of Slytherins had decided to destroy all that mattered to the young girl.

It seemed that disaster followed Nerissa- but it was not so during that sunny afternoon, for Bad Luck had decided that he needed a day’s worth of rest.

The warm air whipped Nerissa’s long, brilliant red hair about her face, and filled her lungs so comfortingly, as though the clouds were aware of her suffering. It had always been so; the nature had always stopped and listened to the young, broken child’s whimpers when the human beings that she was constantly being suffocated by felt they were too important to show any such act of kindness.

Oh, how she longed to be a part of that powerful element- nature. The Earth deserved so much more than Mankind.

Nerissa leaned further over the railing that enclosed the owelry in order to get a better view of the grass and the trees below. This action made the sun smile, for it gave him the chance to get a better look at the young redhead; they had met before, but she had been called Lady Eve then.

Nerissa's small, nameless, brown and gray owl had joined her near the railing, its speckled eyes examining the girl with innocent curiosity, and it was then that a small, honest smile graced Nerissa’s face; only nature would see her smile in such a way.

The Ravenclaw was at peace for that one moment in the silence and the sunlight- but it was a short-lived moment, for another student had joined her, and her sudden pressance had caused Nerissa to stumble forward, putting a bit too much of her weight against the rail. It seemed Nerissa had inherited a bit of her dear uncle's brilliant balance; the girl’s vibrant hair became a stroke of red paint blurred with a painting of the wind as she fell forward... and tumbled over the edge of the owelry tower.

Yumi's attention to the owl was broken by the sudden sound of what seemed to be something slicing the air. She turned her attention from the uncared for owl to the girl who had tumbled over the edge of the tower. Yumi's eyes widened as she saw the girl fall over. "Oh my god!" she said softly and she ran toward the girl. She had to help her, even though it wasn't really in her nature to help others, she could leave the girl there, like that.

"Are you okay? Take my hand." she said, extending her hand toward the girl. How she fell over, Yumi didn't know and she didn't care either. All that mattered was that she had to help her.

Most of Yumi's face was covered by her bangs and the shadows of the Owlery. All that could be seem was the lower half of her face. The owl that was with Yumi had begun to fly around frantically, squawking as it flew. Yumi didn't pay attention to it's squawking, and just looked at the girl through her bangs.

Boredom Led To This? Empty Re: Boredom Led To This?

Nerissa had always been a small, fragile girl, and therefore, it was a wonder that she had been able to hold on to what part of the tower she had managed to curl her fingers around. She did not have much muscle left on her, but apparently, her will to remain alive was far more powerful than she was aware of.

This was not her first near-death experience, but surely, that determination had not dwindled in the slightest.

A fair hand came into Nerissa’s view, reaching towards her from within the owelry, offering assistance and safety… but upon spotting that sign of hope, her thoughts began to whirl about her brain; was this not the same women who had caused Nerissa to stumble into that situation in the first place?

What type of creature knocked someone over, and then offered to help them back on their feet? A human- one who wishes to pull me back up, only to knock me over again- they are all the same by default, Nerissa decided, despite the fact that her grip had begun to fail her.

She was slipping, and yet, her mind argued that she was safer holding on for her life than she was in the hands of the stranger. The skin of her fingers screamed as she slid further down the side of the tower, but her body was unable to override her mind.

She would not surrender.
