Valentine’s Day put Ariel in a foul mood. He took his time in arriving to the ‘date’ thing. He didn’t know who signed him up for the whole affair but whoever did was going to get a practical lesson on why werewolves are so dangerous. What did make Ariel brighten was the thought of Jack on this particular day and it was she who made him swan through the stalls set up in search of something to get her. Ariel passed the flower stall four or five times before finally buying Jack a bouquet of cherry blossoms. He trotted up the lane to the post office and sent it off, attaching a note to the House Elves for them to put the blossoms in a vase for her. Then, after buying a few things for his sisters, his mother and Risé, Ariel trotted back up towards Madam Puddifoot’s where he thought he may as well check on his date.
Ariel entered the shop and walked over to the table number that had been owled to him. He stood before the table and smirked at the girl seated there. He knew exactly who she was. She was Krum’s sister. Oh, what luck. Ariel chuckled to himself and placed his hand in the pocket of his jacket. “I’m not staying,” he informed her snidely. “I have far more important things to be doing. I hope you’re not too disappointed.” His voice was dripping, oozing with disdain and even as he spoke, that cruel smirk stayed on his lips.
