Lunch time

Delilah walked into the Leaky cauldron with her little boy Dylan on her hip. She looked around for an empty table as she pushed the hair from her face and behind her ear. “well Dill it looks like we aren’t going to find a place to sit for a while.” she said to the four year old.
“but mommy,” he protested.
“oh looked there it looks like their leavening.” she said and when she was sure they were not coming back to the table she went over seating Dylan down in a chair and sitting next to him. It was noon time and her little boy had decided it was time to eat. “Do you want a hamburger and fries?” she asked and Dylan nodded.

Jess had only stood up for a minute, or so he'd thought, when he'd gone to walk his friends out of the pub. In all reality, it probably had been a little longer, not he thought of it, but he didn't think that he'd been long enough for his seat to have been taken already. Not only were people now sitting at it, but now he had to leave to eat somewhere else. Sighing, he shrugged and turn to walk out of the door, before a thought popped into his head.

Walking to the table he'd left, and approaching the mother and child, he waved. "Hi," he said, nodding politely to her. "I was sitting here earlier, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind having another person join you for your lunch?" he asked, hoping she'd say yes. "I'm Jess, by the way," he added, reaching out to shake her hand.

Delilah was startled when a guy started to talk, "oh I'm sorry i thought you where done with the table." she said "Dylan and I could go some where else, if you'd like." he introduced him self "I'm Delilah," She said shaking his hand. he seemed like a good person from what she could tell so she said "of course you can. you where here first." she pulled Dylan into her lap and hugged him. she didn't like this place much but it was the only place she could think of.

Jess shook his head and sat down, looking as though he didn't mind. "Don't stress over it," he told her, "I would've done the same, it's pretty packed today," he said to her, a hint of humour in his tone. He then had his attention drawn to the little boy and smiled. "Hello, Dylan was it?" he asked, "I'm Jess, it's nice to meet you." He said to the little boy. "What're you two going to have to eat?" Jess asked, waving his wand and summoning a menu to look at for himself, his belly rumbling audibly. "Sorry," he said, patting his stomach and looking a bit embarrassed.

"Hi Jess," Dylan said quietly, "food," he answered Jess's question of what they where going to eat.
Delilah watched the guy quietly for a minute then said "Dylan is going to have a burger maybe.." she said it quietly putting her arm around dylan tightly but not to tight that it hurt him.
dylan started to giggle when Jess stomach started to make noises "Mommy his tummy makes funny noises!" dylan said through his giggles.

Jess listened intently and laughed hard at his answer. "Well spoken Dylan, well spoken," he said, for food was exactly what they were going to eat. "Ah, a burger, that sounds nice, don't you think Delilah? Maybe I'll have one too," he said, mock thoughtfulness entering his tone of voice, before suddenly Jess grinned playfully-evily and said in a fiendish voice. "Maybe I'll eat yours!" Before laughing again, this time quieter.

"It most certainly was," he finally said, patting his stomach again, and looking at the menu."But you know," he started, "The best way to get rid of the funny noises, is to eat, don't you think?" He asked, clearly not sure if he was right or not.

Dylan believe any one who said something like what Jess had said about eating his burger. "no eat my burger," he said then Jess started laughing and dylan smiled realizing it was a joke. dylan then believed to get read of the tummy noises you had to eat. "then you eat food," Dylan said smileing.
Delilah had no idea what to think of this Jess she silently listened to the conversation he was having with her son not really hearing what had been said to her.

Jess chuckled and took one last look at the menu. "Hmm, well, I think I might try a pasta this time sorry Dylan, you can tell me how the burger is, and I might get one next time, how does that sound?" he asked, smiling at the boy.

"Shall we order now?" he asked, raising his hand, gesturing for the waiter to come to their table. "The service here is still pretty good, despite the busy-ness," he commented as the waiter approached their table. "Hello," he said to the waiter, putting his menu down. "I'll have a pasta carbonara, no mushrooms, please," he told him, "And for the drink, a pitcher of Lemon squash and a few glasses for everyone please," he told him, looking over at Delilah and Dylan. "And for you Delilah?" he asked, smiling over the table at her.

"Okay," Dylan said to jess.
when the waiter got there and took down jess's order she looked at him ,"Just a burger," She said quietly only worried about feeding dylan. her son was the only reason she had come into the leaky cauldron at all. he had been hungry and it was the closet place with real food. she played with dylan's hands as they sat there at the table.
