Chase almost said something when the kids started to fight, but her eyes fell on Elijah and she knew it would be best to stay out of it. She moved Kitty away from him when he pulled his ear away and watched as he stood up and grabbed Caelum by the scruff of the neck and pushed him into a chair. Chase watched with a blank face before slowly turning her attention to Kitty, who was tugging on the little fox's ear. She quickly moved her away and Kitty started to contentedly suck on her fingers as she watched the room with large eyes. Chase let her gaze drift to Elijah and Caelum, who were having an argument in French. Having spent so much time around Elijah, Chase was starting to pick up the language, and she had a feeling she knew what they were talking about. And she sure didn't like it. She didn't know what to say, but Elijah seemed to have it under control (Shockingly enough) and Chase simply sat there, staring at the floor, her cheeks red. She hated it when her family fought while there was company.
When Jack brought out the Pheonix, Chase didn't know what to say, and either did Elijah apparently. It was beautiful, at the height of it's beauty, and rather sad looking. It would take awhile for it to get comfortable, but Chase knew it would be very happy in their loud, messy, noisy house filled with love. The bird would be cared for, and loved for as long as it was alive (of course it wouldn't die, so it would forever be happy). Chase looked up at Jack with a look of wonder on her face. "It's beautiful.." She said softly, reaching out and stroking the bird's feathers gently. She smiled at Elijah, "I hope that makes you happier mister." She said with a grin before she stood up. "I guess it's time for us to give Jack her presents eh kids?" She asked glancing around the room at the kids, they had all gotten Jack something and it was time for them to dig their presents out from under the tree. Chase went to the tree and got two of them out for Jack. One from Elijah, and one from Kitty. The one from kitty was just an envelope, but Kitty had drawn all over the envelope with crayons and markers and paint, and it was very colorful. "This is from Kitty." she said handing the envelope to her. "She drew you a picture." She said with a laugh shaking her head. "I'm afraid she doesn't know you yet.. but she does recognize her face.. so when she was playing with crayons the other day, I took it for you.." She said smiling as she gently bumped Kitty up and down on her knee.
