This reporter has never advocated a side in the war of humanity, let alone the war of life and dark, but the side with no representation: peace. Even when calamities of kidnappings and murder, destruction and death, pain and suffering has arisen, the argument has remained the same. Only with peace can the war end to stop the rest.
I must make an amendment to this argument. Peace and safety. Keep yourself and your loved ones safe. I fear for a time when it may be impossible to do so.
Felix Barker has kept a Hogwarts student by the name of Naomi Quinn-Greyback since the first weekend in November when she was out for a Hogsmeade trip. By then, Barker had already captured, tortured and released two women but he was not as accredited for cruelty as he is now. For whatever reason, he has yet to release her, a month or so later.
It took him a few weeks to recapture Khaat Lupin. The story of her capture at St Mungos- either because Greyback escaped (though it failed) or he Imperiused her is unknown- is well known by now. Ms Lupin stated she was placed in a cell with Greyback and the latter seemed as though she did not have much hope for escape. Lupin underwent the usual torturing, but the worst sort came in the appearance of another person.
Barker also kidnapped student Elijah Krum, all- it seems- to pain Lupin even more, who has close connections to him. Elijah was, likewise, tortured, and Barker made threats against people close to him, threatening to murder them in front of him. He then left and they claim to have heard screams from the torture room designated for Greyback.
Ministry officials claimed to see Barker and Greyback exit the building and they went inside to find Krum and Lupin, near death. They were rushed to St Mungo's and both are now on the road to recovery.
Many questioned why the two were seen exiting together and Krum claims to have run into Barker purchasing a diamond ring and then accusing Barker of loving Greyback. Barker agreed that the accusations were right, and witnesses that have seen them together have come to the assumption that Greyback returns the feelings, making them accomplices.
It still remains that Greyback was also in a cell and also subject to sorts of torture and also sported injuries. The Ministry has stopped their attempts to save her and have determined to try her in court as an accomplice if they capture her. This reporter urges against it. Young Greyback is still held in a cell, still tortured, what would it even matter if she did have feelings. She is still a victim. I also remind the public of Imperio, love potions, and Stockholm's syndrome (a syndrome where victims fall in love with their kidnappers because they are keeping them alive therefore they “saved their life”) all of which are probabilities in this situation.
I urge anyone with connections to Greyback, Lupin, or Krum to take necessary cautions, and everyone else to realize the dangers. There is little information about whether Barker is backed by the Death Eaters, but it is wisest to presume he is and that there are dangers in getting even close to involved. Naturally, anyone with pertinent information is to contact myself or the Ministry. And above all, stay safe.
