PERSONALITY:
Carl, is a fun loving man who has had a troubled past. He continually was forced to watch his father beat his mother. At the time however he did not know she was a witch and could fight back. But he was always haunted by the sights of the bruises and the sounds of her screaming. He always wondered why she was always perfectly fine the next day if his father had broken a bone the nigh/day before. This caused himt o be continually depressed and anti social until his father was aressested. However these days he is known to be a riot at parties and a great pal to have around.

He is always a gentleman to women and a very nice man to men as well. You will rarely see him drinking or swearing at other people. He is always well behaved...to standards. Of course he may make a dirty joke if someone has already said one and he's with friends around a fire or something. He doesn't drink much and sometimes gets ridiculed for it. However Carl has learned that it doesn't matter what anyone says or thinks. It only depends on what he thinks about himself. His image is based on his perception of himself.

He is always having a good time somewhere and is hardly depressed anymore. Although sometimes he does need time to sit alone and think, as everyone does at some point. If it comes down to that though, he'll have a visit with his Aunt and Uncle on his mother's side or stay the night with a friend. Because in the past it had been known that he would cause some damage to his house and somtimes himself or others. But that is all behind him, he is now more happier than he has been in his whole life.

CHARACTER HISTORY
------------------------------------------------------------

Early Years:
Carl...grew up in a "broken" family, literally. He lived in the worst possible home you could ever live in. His father would constantly beat his mother and his older brother would constantly beat him. So Carl was haunted by the sights of his father beating his mother, and the pain of his brother beating him. He nearly ever got a decent night sleep because of the emotional and physical pain. And at the time he had no idea his mother was a witch and could fight back. So he was always afraid his father would kill her one day.

That day came when he was 11 years old. He had come home from school one day and heard shouts from the kitchen. Let's just say that the shouting didn't last long. So Carl ran out of the house and to the neighbours home crying. He explained why there was always shouting at his house and why he was always sitting on the roof hiding. But that was also one of the happiest days of his life...ever. It was the day his father was sent to prison and his brother was sent to a juvenile detention center. Turns out he had beaten a girl he was dating and....well like father like son. Plus, it was the day he learned his was a Wizard and his mother a Witch.

So the neighbours took him in legally and continued to watch over him. They helped him learn about magic and ways to cope with the images and pain still haunting him. Luckily for him he would eventually grow into a fine young man and be able to cope with much more than his past.

Hogwarts Years:
Carl was always so happy during the day at Hogwarts. He didn't have too many friends as he had trust issues when it came to people. After all, he had trusted his father and brother. But at night, things would get rather scary in the Ravenclaw Tower. He would sometimes wake up screaming in the middle of the night. Sometimes they'd even send him to the Hospital wing for the night because the other students couldn't sleep. Nobody seemed to want to even try to help him. However there was one person, (Insert name here) was always there to help him. Him/her was always smiling and encouraging him to be happy. He was happy though, it was only when he was down.

But this went on till about his fourth year when things started to heal and he began to act more like he is today. He was always nice to the women of Hogwarts where he went to school (did I forget to mention that?). He was always making clean jokes at the Ravenclaw table and around the fire. He was a good student, all his teachers loved him except a few who just were losers.

So he graduated a happy man with a few friends who he would "room" with until he got his own. And those he still visits frequently to this day. He enjoyed school, but his graduate life would be even better. Although his girlfriend broke up with him a few days after graduation. That caused him to start breaking things in his and (insert name here)'s apartment. It was all his stuff but he got back to normal afterwards. It wasn't so much the rejection but the fact that he was going to propose. Plus the depression only made him think of his mother who would sometimes sing him to sleep.

Adulthood:
After graduation Carl applied for a muggle job for a while. Just so he could keep up his rent until he found a wizard job. He was splitting the rent with his friend but he also needed something to do during the day. Eventually he started writing and had a few books published in the muggle world. He had never been to keen on writing but his Aunt and Uncle said it was a good way to let emotions out. Oh right, eventually when Carl turned fifteen his Aunt and Uncle came for him as they were his legal godparents. So he decided to try it out in the wizard world. Nothing has taken off yet but he isn't going to stop trying.

He has never had a wife and regrets that as he doesn't have a family. However he does have an adopted son who goes to a muggle school. His name is Max, he's fourteen; he is a muggle and Carl preffers not to use magic at home. He wants Max to live the muggle way so he's prepared for when he lives on his own. Max does know that his father is a wizard though. His son wants to follow in his fathers footsteps and become a writer. But Carl is still looking for a different Job, as being a wizard author hasn't taken off. But he is thriving in the muggle world so that pays.
