We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!
What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.
GENERAL APPEARANCE: He's very pale, as he rarely gets out, and his fingers especially are long and bony. He's very awkward looking, not helped by the fact he stoops everywhere he goes, and he's often got...something staining his fingers and face. His hair is never combed, he rarely washes. He also wears glasses.
CHARACTER STRENGTHS AND SKILLS: -Problem solving- Walker loves puzzles, the more complicated the better. He's learned how to beat a rubix cube in under 20 seconds, and has improved on it, making it more difficult.
-Visualization- Walker has extremely good visualization, able to picture things perfectly in his mind and hold them there. He'd be an accomplished artist, if he had any artistic talent whatsoever.
-Memory- Walker's memory is indeed, photographic. Despite this, he is incredibly forgetful...with all the information stored in his head he finds it hard to recall things without actively trying to.
-Inventing- It is his hobby. His dream. His entire life. Walker devotes nearly every waking moment to whatever contraption he's currently working on, no matter what the effect it has on the rest of his life.
-Intelligence- unfortunately, Walker is mind numbingly brilliant.
CHARACTER WEAKNESSES:
-Sports- Any kind of sport. Ever. Physical activity might describe it better actually, as Walker is one of the most un-athletic people you could ever meet. Quidditch? He can't steer a broom to save his life. Jogging? He can barely walk without tripping over himself. Swimming? Well...uh, he can't swim. Yet.
-Schoolwork- Despite being mind numbingly brilliant, Walker has had the lowest grades in his class since year one. He never shows up to class, (when he does he usually sleeps or scribbles notes on pieces of paper) rarely even meets his teachers, and still doesn't know half his grade.
-Social Interaction- Talking to people? Walker? Ha.
-Ego- Walker is the most brilliant person to ever walk the earth, so stay out of his way, puny mortals. And for the love of God, stop being so stupid.
CHARACTER LIKES:
-Inventing- As stated above, Walker adores inventing. His total count of inventions is 694 (778 if you count the ones that have exploded) and he's well on his way to 695 (779)
-Silence- Hear that? No? Good.
-Math- It's logic, fools! Cower before it!
CHARACTER DISLIKES:
-Other People- Not so much them as their innate idiocy, but if you want to get technical...
-Class- It's distracting, irritating, and forces him to interact with other people. (see above) Is he supposed to enjoy it?
-Music- Or sound in general. But music (ALL MUSIC) is incredibly worthless. Put some earphones in, if you absolutely have to have it on.
GOALS:
-To Graduate- Ah, the sweet freedom of becoming independent. TwoOne Two more years.
QUIRKS:
BOGGART: Him. Minus about 200 IQ points
PATRONUS: The first time one of his inventions didn't explode. A little propellor he created when he was six.
DEMENTOR: Failing his sixth year.
AMORENTIA: Oil
MIRROR OF ERISED: Him, an accomplished inventor
PERSONALITY: How do you describe Walker? He's brilliant, lonely, eccentric, and an enormous jackass. He doesn't have any friends, and for good reason. He rarely talks, and when he does it's for someone to pass him something at a meal. He's always mumbling to himself though, and carrying around scraps of paper with complex figures scribbled all over them. He's quick tempered, constantly frustrated, and most of all, really really smart.
------------------------------------------------------------ FAMILY & POSSESSIONS ------------------------------------------------------------
FATHER: James Marshall - An accomplished muggle scientist and rationalist, it was him who got Walker interested in muggle sciences. He was against sending Walker to Hogwarts because he felt he could be a great scientist if he continued his muggle education. However, when Walker's mother showed him what was possible when Walker had his hands on magical material, James gave in. He is immensely proud of his son and is one of the few people Walker actually respects.
MOTHER: Selene Cameron-Marshall- A muggle born witch that graduated from Hogwarts...ahem..."on her back", Selene had no interest in settling down until she met James. He captivated her, for reasons nobody could quite see, and though their rushed marriage went through a rough patch, her becoming pregnant with Walker was enough to keep them together through that. She is also proud of her son, though she does wish he had a few more friends.
SIBLING(S): Walker is an only child
OTHER: None
BLOOD STATUS: Halfblood
RACE: Human
SOCIAL STATUS: Middle Class
PET(S): He had a cat, but forgot to feed it and it ran away. He never really noticed.
BROOMSTICK: He does have an old Shooting Star. Not for riding, you fools! For SCIENCE!
OTHER POSSESSIONS:
------------------------------------------------------------ CHARACTER HISTORY ------------------------------------------------------------
Early Years: Walker was raised in relative privilege, home schooled by his dad and quickly mastering everything he was taught. When he started bringing his toy robots to life, his parents knew something was up, and after he built a magical fountain his father consented to let him attend Hogwarts.
Hogwarts Years: Walker initially excelled at school, at least until the newness of magic wore off. From then on he was in his room day and night, working on his bizarre projects and rarely speaking to anyone. His grades hit rock bottom and he would've failed, but he presented Headmaster Shacklebolt a magical/mechanical bird at the end of the year, and the Headmaster passed him. That tradition continued for several years until Shacklebolt was killed in his sixth year. Majere, unfortunately, did not accept his "extra credit project" and failed him, forcing him to repeat his sixth year. Walker has decided that with a new Headmaster, he will try to pass his normal way again, and see how it goes.
