Early Years: Marki's mother was a witch, and when her father found out, he ran off. She was only a few months old, so she never knew him, though she is sure he is a pathetic loser not worth finding. Her mother remarried when she was two to a more understanding muggle man named Carl Gordon and they had their first child together a year later. Marki was a happy kid and never really had problems. She was a leader with a ragtag group of neighborhood kids and all was happy... until her mother died when she was ten. Their family was terribly affected. Carl fully adopted Marki and Marki's only relative, her great aunt Claire, moved in to help the family.
Hogwarts Years: Marki was the only one in the family with magic (Aunt Claire was a squib) and she often felt isolated once everyone in the family knew she was capable of magic. So when she got her Hogwarts letter, it was quite the relief, as though it were all justified. She went to school, and though she was not the most brilliant student, she was one of the most insightful. She had a knack for seeing things from a different perspective and figuring out the things most people are too obstinate to even consider. People were drawn to her for her quirky happiness.
