General Appearance: Unless he's dressed for an occasion Marlowe consistently looks disarrayed and untidy; it's a visual expression of his aversion for authority. His hair is long and uncut, though he ties it back for classes because it would just get in the way otherwise.

General Personality: Marlowe is incredibly liberal, and likes to draw attention to the fact. He believes in equality for magical beings and thinks blood prejudice is the most ridiculous thing a wizard ever conjured up.
When he's not being passionate about his beliefs, Marlowe is pretty easy going, the sort of boy who can make friends with anyone. In fact, he likes to socialise with a wide range of people just because he finds other people's opinions so fascinating, even when he doesn't agree with them.

Childhood: Marlowe grew up in a kind of crossed over world of muggle and magical culture. Although his parents divorce just after his ninth birthday took a lot of the magic out of his life, the weekend visits to his father's house still kept him and his brother well enough informed about their magical heritage for Marlowe to understand what was happening when he received his Hogwarts letter when he turned 11.
Hogwarts: Hogwarts has been pretty uneventful for Marlowe so far. He's kept his head down and stayed unnoticed while the controversial changes happened within the school, partly because his mother would gladly pull both him and David out of Hogwarts and send them to a muggle school in the current political climate.
