Malek laughed, his low slow chuckle sounding like a distortion of everything good, everything pleasant--as if there would be no hope, no light, no love ever again. These beings were more fun than he thought. Oh, and look, some little servant female, with a tray of food. She looked at Malek and screamed in terror. Malek simply curled around her and felt himself absorbing her lifeforce. There was energy there, hope, love, faith, and a hundred other good things--bah! He could get rid of that garbage. Her figure slumped lifeless to the floor without a sound. This wasn't going to take much time to get rid of these helpless little beings, and it wasn't going to take much work either.
He looked back at the female, who had been joined by a male. The female was firing magical spells at him. Magic? Well, now that was interesting, wasn't it? It was nice to know that there was some magic in this world. He could use that when he got the place cleaned up. Her spells went right through him and hit the wall behind him. Well, it had been worth a try on her part. She was trying to defend herself. But rather silly, also, to fire on a shapeless being. There was nothing solid about him for a spell to anchor to.
He decided to show her what she was up against. He sent an energy bolt towards her, without moving, without any show of annoyance. He intended only to wound, at least right now. He fired at her shoulder, a blast of lightning like electrical energy. Knowing these were corporeal beings, he had to lower the force to keep from killing, at least right now. But flesh would burn, and it was a smell he liked. He turned and looked at the ignorant little male with her. The female had a clue about what she was up against. The male, well, not so much. He fired a similar energy bolt at the young male's arm. Again, wound only. These seemed to be younglings. Teach them slowly. Then kill them.
