Jack stared back at him, barely picking up that he had said "not again." She guessed that that meant his disappearance. She softly squeezed one of his shoulders to let him know that he could calm down, there was no need to be freaking out right now. She stared at him.
If she knew she only had so much time, was this how she would spend it? Jack was already a spontaneous person, so what would she do? She would not drink her remaining time away, or hate more. She would surround herself with the people who made her smile and the people she cared about, and she would do all of the things that made her happy and just enjoy the time she had.
But Vito...Did anything make him truly happy? And who could he surround himself with? Was there anyone out there that Vito cared about? She did not think so. This was the only way he knew to handle this situation. She bit her lip and studied his features sadly.
Suddenly he slid forward and touched his head to hers. Her eyes widened, but she did not move away. Vito was...it was almost like he was giving up. No more fighting back, just accepting the fact that he could not do everything on his own. She relaxed and closed her eyes, moving her hands so they went around his neck, wanting to comfort the broken being in front of her. She let out a soft breath and said, "It's okay."
