Chase sat on the ground for a moment, digging through the weeds, searching for her wand. She finally found it and stood up straight, hunched over slightly from the pain in her back. "Yeah.. I'm fine!" She said spinning around so her back was facing him, back to back she stared at the circling bears. "Wow.. never been in a situation like this.. been in plenty of others, but this is rather unique." She said attempting to smile, even though he couldn't see it. She looked around at the circling bears, she couldn't even count them, but they seemed to be keeping their distance now that they had regained themselves. Some of them looked pretty torn up, and a few were laying on the ground not moving. The one she had just kicked was starting to stir, but it just hobbled off into the woods, obviously in a lot of pain. The other bears let it through and continued to circle, closing in on them.
"Well.. if we don't make it out of this, just let me say, I'm happy that I met you Andrew.." She said attempting to sound brave, even though her voice was trembling. "We.. have a lot in common.." She said and glanced over her shoulder up at him, before turning back to the bears, who were slowly closing in on them, the circle tighter and tighter. She tensed her body, but immediately regretted it as pain burst through her back. Growling her irritation, she knew she didn't have time to heal it, but it sure hurt. "I'll watch your back... and.. well.." she glanced at him again and then looked towards Hogsmeade. It was getting later now, the sun starting it's long descent across the sky, the shadows were lengthening, and she knew if they didn't make it back into town by nightfall, they wouldn't make it back alive again. "If we concentrate on the road.. on getting back to the town.. and break through their circle, we might be able to make a run for it.." She said softly, her voice hard and pressed, as though keeping back tears.
