General Personality:
James is a pretty nice guy all around. He's kind to his friends and doesn't judge too harshly, giving people the benefit of the doubt. He's very sociable and fiercly loyal to those whom he in turn trusts. James doesn't back down and stands up for what he believe in which might be the very reason he was sorted into Gryffindor. Jason keeps his faith in people despite the evidence that's played against them. Perhaps that means that he trusts a bit too easily and is a little gullible.

James' quite a foil to his shy, studious brother. He likes to have fun and is a bit careless. He parties a lot, studies very little and is extremely confident. This makes him a very good speaker, and he is able to make friends easily. He's a ladies man too, though he never cheats. He sometimes gets people angry or annoyed with his constant jokes and pranks, but thats how he is. He doesn't see anything wrong with it.

James's temper is usually kept in check, but sometimes it gets out of hand. This is mostly when he or his friends are insulted. He sticks up for them and himself without a second thought. And, although he's naturally accepting of faults and accidents, he absolutely hates being backstabbed and will hold a grudge.

He is quite outdoorsy and likes to play quidditch. Like his father, he's good at it too, though he prefers to be a beater rather than a seeker.

Childhood:
The first born child of Harry and Ginevra Potter turned out to be a boy and the Potters and their family could not be more overjoyed. The parents decided to name the boy James Sirius Potter. He grew up mostly in the burrow and sometimes Shell Cottage.

When James' younger brother came along, he tried desperately to love the baby whom they dubbed Albus, but it was hard. He was not even a year old himself but as they grew older, James found that being in such a big family was hard. He loved them all, but he craved attention. Thus, James ended up not exactly liking his not-much younger brother much. He got along well with his sister though, and became good friends with Ted as well.
Hogwarts: At Hogwarts he didn't study much, but he was intelligent enough to scrape through with mediocre grades. Due to his charm, the teachers usually ignored his unserious attitude. He had a bunch of friends and ex-girl friends by the time he graduated from Hogwarts. Most of them from Gryffindor. He didn't get along well with Slytherins. He did well on the quidditch team too. He got 6 NEWT's, with one outstanding and 5 E's.
Adulthood:
After Graduatation James joined the order and tried to find a job. His goal was to be an auror but for now he's just training for the auror test. He has no interest in it really, he just wants to work with his uncle george in his joke shop.

Short Roleplay:
James really hadn’t considered studies lately. They were just... too overwhelming. Of course, he wanted to do fantastically and live up to the standards his family had for him, the first born Potter. But how was he supposed to do that with them downstairs shouting and having fun with out him? Hm?

Exactly, he wasn’t. He wanted to go downstairs and shout at them all for having too much fun, but that was stupid. Who in the name of Merlin would do that except his mother? Ugh. He really ought to get down to studying. James rose from his seat, knocking his chair over in the process.D amn. If they heard him crashing about downstairs and not studying, he’d be for it. He’d already got a D in Potions and a... oh, what was it? A T? Yeah, a T in Transfiguration. It wasn't his fault though. The teachers never explained well.

Why did he even have to pass his exams, really? He was definitely going to work with Uncle George for a bit after leaving Hogwarts, maybe travel the world a bit. He didn't have much interest in being an auror like everyone wanted him to be.
