Class Nine - N.E.W.T

Another day, another class. Professor McCoy had replaced professor Emof, who had work in the Ministry, not a long time ago. He liked teaching, especially Transfiguration. He had done some teaching jobs before, but Transfiguration was always his favorite. He wrote his name on the blackboard and sat on his desk, waiting for the students to arrive. He also waved his hand and wrote the title of today's lesson - Conjuration Spells.

Arthur entered the classroom and smiled to the professor, taking his usual seat in the front row and preparing for class.

Mariana walked into the Transfiguration classroom not looking any different from the previous class. Same expression, same robes, same apperance. She even scared herself sometimes though she kept the act pretty well so far. "Good Morning Professor.." she said loudly after which she took her regular seat next to Arthur not really sure what else to do apart from get out her piece of parchement. "And Hi Arthur.." she added quickly moving her wand from one side of the desk to another without any particular objective.

Belle walked in and sat at table quietly, her mind was not on class or anything else. She hadn't been sleeping well and was beginning to wonder if she was coming down with something. All she did was toss and turn lately, but maybe that was because her husband was gone again and she could only think about the last time he had always been to busy. She shook her head and looked up at the board, trying to clear her mind and prepare for the lesson.

''Only three people?! Well, then... fine. Just shortly today, we shan't practice that much, only theory. How I hate such classes. Now, would anyone care to name me a few more conjuration spells?'', he asked, disappointed.

Belle raised her hand. "Appicus, conjures a bee or swarm of bees."

She was not really sure how you made the difference, she had had it used on her once as a child. Needless to say she still did not like bees, the gave her the creeps. But she would have to look that up one day to find out what made the difference..she hated not knowing everything there was to a spell.

Mariana thought for a second. After all she knew some good ones that were useful to her during all these years. "Well there is Bluebell flames charm which conjures blue flames, Expellimellius which conjures ordinary flames.Geminio which conjures a duplicate of the object. Orchideous which conjures flowers and that's all i can remember for the moment.." she said scratching her chin though there was nothing else popping anywhere.

''Good, miss Fey and good, miss Diggory. Those are some of the conjuration spells, except, Miss Diggory, Geminio is treated as a normal spell, not as something taught in Transfiguration. As Transfiguration is the art of transforming something into something else, even thin air into matter, that spell, which only creates an exact duplicate of something that already exists, cannot be treated as a conjuration spell. But still, 10 points for both houses. Now, your task for today will be simple... since there aren't many of you. You will use the
Orchideus spell to conjure flowers. Then, you will use Appicus to conjure bees and attract them onto the flowers. Once you have done that, you will use the most simple un-conjuration spell of them all - Evanesco, to make everything disappear. And that is it for today.'', he said, smiling.

This was an easy task he could do without any problem and probably did at one point in life. He took his wand out and pointed it at the desk. ''Orchideus'', he said, conjuring flowers on the desk. They smelled nice, although he could not say for sure what species they were, he was never into gardening. ''Appicus'', he said, conjuring a bee. ''Imperio'', he used the spell to control the bee. He did not want any problems with that insect, not in class, at least. He lead it carefully to the flower and stopped controlling it. Once he was sure it would stay on it he pointed his wand at the lot. ''Evanesco'', he fired, making everything disappear.

This was easy, too easy, but he understood professor McCoy. He never liked students missing class and this was, always, a big blow for him.
