Keith shot up the stairs towards the owlry, letter gripped tightly in hand. The address on the front was written in messy, hastily drawn script, and there were several ink blotches, as well as scribbles where mistakes had been made and corrected. If one stared at it for around 2 minutes and kept an open mind about what it might say, they might eventually come to the conclusion that this letter was addressed to Keith's parents.
It wasn't. It was to his sister.
Keith didn't write to his sister much, and she didn't write to him. But right now he felt like he needed to check up on her, make sure she was alright over in france. make sure she wasn't falling for anybody, because having a french brother in law would be unacceptable.
As he skidded to a stop inside the owlry, he paused for a moment as his eyes took in all the different owls. There were so many of them, but Keith knew exactly what to look for....now where...ah, Keith thought, grinning. There he is.
"Baldur!" Keith called to a large eagle owl perched up in the corner. The owl cocked his head sideways, bringing attention of his chipped ear. "Baldur! I have a letter I need you to send!" Keith called again, waving the scrunched up piece of parchment. "C'mon down boy!" But the owl hooted softly in a disdainful manner, and looked away. Keith sighed.
