Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. January Question of the Month Empty January Question of the Month

Post by Darren Thu Jan 28, 2010 10:29 pm

Part 1 of Deathly Hallows will be realeased 10 months from now, in November. The director, David Yates, will produce both part 1 and part 2. He was the same director who made HP5 and 6. So, what do you think Part 1 of Deathly Hallows will be like? Good or bad? Do you think it was a good decision to split the movies in two? Thats the question of the month for February.

Discuss and vote.

Personally. I think it's going to be a great movie, but thats me i like everything just the way they are. I don't understand why they need to split the movie.

I'm glad they're splitting it, as they can include more stuff this way!
No way in hell will it be anywhere near as good as the book. But still, I'm really looking forward to it Smile. I hope it comes out around my bday, too!

I think David Yates will do a good job on these two, I didn't like the fifth book so much, and he turned it into one of my favorite movies. That's just me. And, as Jemma said, they'll be able to include more incidents from the book, and play them as they were, if they cut it in half. Plus, it prolongs the ending of looking foreword to an HP book or movie! Yay!

If they do it right they can actuly stay pretty close to the book but if it turns out like the last one where they just rush through it its going to be bad. (They need the guy who did the first to movies back he was extremely close to the book)

If they modify the ending, I'm cool with it. Cuz that was the cheesiest, sappiest ending Rowling could have put in there.
The build up to the seventh movie also makes it difficult to really get into all of the hallows. In some scenes, they were editted out to make more room for the action pieces. It'll be interesting to see how the Director can tie it all toghether.

I think its going to be pretty good. Especially since they broke it into two separate movies.

Don't know about Yates. I absolutely hated the previous two movies, and the fourth though that was hardly Yates fault. Still IMO, the movies have all gone downhill after the 3rd one. I hope this one will be better, but I dont think it will :/

I saw the offical teaser trailier (and yes it was offical new scenes and all) and I have to say I am curious. I am glad though they broke it up for the fact they can add more of the storylines. I am also interested in where they can divide it without leaving it to sudden. Definately going to see it.

Actually, I just found out that they're going to make the cutoff at Malfoy Manor, I think when they come up and see the looming manor ahead of them or something. Anyways, it said it was going to be a cliffhanger.
