a private talk w/ jess

Khaat went into the kitchen and occupied herself with making a pot of her favorite french roast coffee. She knew she had to update Jess on everything, but, honestly, it made her a trifle nervous. Making coffee muggle style and making it right took a bit of attention and it seemed to help to keep her hands busy. She found a very large mug in the cabinet and claimed it for her coffee addiction, as she smelled the rich, strong coffee start to brew. Khaat didn't believe it was possible to make coffee too strong.

Jess walked into the kitchen, a weary look on his face. "Yes?" He said, his normal cheeriness, not quite gone, but definitely tired. "Can i help you?" he asked.

"Perhaps," Khaat said tentatively. "Coffee is almost done, if you like it strong." She turned to look at him. "Jess, there are a couple of important things we need to discuss. I think, if I'm careful, I could use the first thing to the Order's advantage. You see, I have a young homeless teen living with me. She was living on the streets, so I took her in. These are dangerous times for a young girl to be living in alleyways. She has an aunt that is her only surviving relative, and I promised to find her. My thoughts at the time were that Ministry records would certainly tell me where to find this aunt. So--I got Majere to give me the information I needed, but now he thinks I owe him. I don't plan on giving him anything, but perhaps that is one little tidbit that could be used to the Order's advantage."

((As i said, i'm sleepy. What can we use for the order? The info on the aunt or the teenager? Or the fact Majere thinks you owe him something?))

OOC: the fact that majere thinks khaat owes her. she won't give him anything unless there's something in it for the order's missions.

Jess nodded. "You're right," he said. "What would you choose to do to him, to trick him?" He asked

"Most likely, I would use that faulty thinking of his to our advantage somehow. He's going to need me for something someday, and I'd like to turn that table and have him owing the Order. Although, trust me when I tell you he will be expecting it. If it is to be useful, it will have to be very, very good.. Vincent Majere believes human life is cheap and very expendible if it helps him further his own goals. He is completely self absorbed and power hungry. It is possible, but he will have to see that whatever I can offer him is too irresistible to pass up. Emily Brown just got me into the place where he feels like I owe him, that's all.


"And, furthermore, my daughter, Miseria Manson-Lupin. Her parents were killed in Transylvania by our deatheaters. Her father stole a prophesy ball from the London ministry of magic. I was able to acceess the prophesy because it showed me and Professor Dent raising her, and that when she grows up she will become a formidible force against the dark arts. They have been chasing me to get to her ever since. The moment she comes of age, we need to bring her into the Order. She will be very valuable to us, if the prophesy is acurate. I would, however, prefer her to live long enough to join the Order, and they would not. To make matters worse, I just found out that Miseria is pregnant. I don't know if Rob and I can protect her and this new child by ourselves. I would prefer they not be chased after for the rest of their lives."
