A Christmas Party!

Abbey was by the lake, with a small foldable table set up. She had placed twinkle lights in the trees, and small red and white tableclothes covered the table. Abbey was having a Christmas party, and anyone who wanted could come. Piles of food covered the table in festive bowls, and napkins and paper plates were set aside. Snow littered the ground, so Abbey had brought three snowsleds to go sledding with. Abbey smiled at her wonderful set-up and looked around to see if anyone would show up.

Miseria, who actually didn't like parties, was the first one who showed up. Surprising, huh? She's usually one of the last ones, but hell, she didn't like waiting as well. How she knew about the party wasn't that someone told her or she heard about it, no. Actually she saw one girl near the lake and table with few decorations. She raised her eyebrow when she recognized Abbey, girl who was in the same house she was. Surprising. Hufflepuffs are daring people, huh? Making parties!

She nodded at her, stepping closer. "Hey," she said quietly. Not that they have a fight or something, but the way Miseria spoke was almost apologizing. She was a little bit shy, actually. Abbey was one of the most popular girls in school and in her house. She've seen her before but never talked with her, however, she had chance to do it every day after lessons or during the breakfast.

Abbey whipped her head around and saw a girl, a bit older than her, standing there. Abbey was pretty sure her name was Miseria, and that she was in Hufflepuff also. "Oh, hello there! I'm just throwing a little Christmas party for anyone that wants to come! Would you like to stay?" Abbey asked, plucking a red and white candycane off of a branch on a tree; Abbey had placed different flavored candycanes on all the branches of the surrounding trees.

Abbey handed Miseria the candycane. "Here! I hope you like that flavor. But if you don't, I could always get you another one." Abbey said, smiling at her.

Lucy walked out onto the grounds. It was a butifull day with just a little snow on the ground. Lucy smiled as she headed for the lake where she nomaly went to clear her head. As she began to get close to the lake she saw a table with food and cardy canes on the tree. Normaly Lucy would walk away but not today. She was in a good mood. As lucy got closer she saw two other girls. She had seen them around but did not know them. Luucy walked up and said "Hi" she knew her vioce must sound shy and she hated that. Both of the girls looked a little older than her.

"Hello there!" Abbey said, waving to a little girl that had just showed up to her party. "Excuse me, but I'm afraid I don't know your name?" Abbey asked, handing the girl another of the multi colored candycanes from a weeping willow tree branch.

Lucy smiled at the girl and said "thanks " as she took the candy cane and then Lucy said "My names Lucy Weasley" Lucy smilled still felling a bit shy around people she did not know.

Abbey smiled sweetly at the girl, hoping she felt welcome. "Well hi, Lucy. My name's Abbey Dawn, third year Hufflepuff." she said. Abbey poured herself a glass of punch and looked around at Miseria and Lucy. "Would you guys like any punch?" she asked, offering them a cup.
