Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

A young woman laid out on the lawns of Hogwarts that particular afternoon, soaking up the sun’s rays and also soaking in a bit of water from the ground underneath. It had rained recently, as that seemed to be the weather of choice that Merlin liked to have them all play with, and the ground still held a bit of that dampness if too much pressure was applied here, or too much pressure was applied there, that part of your body was going to get wet. As it was, it was only Ivory’s rear and shoulders that felt even the slightest bit of wetness touch them, though she had long ago given up awareness to just about everything around her. An old baseball cap rested over her face to keep the sun off of it, and she certainly wasn’t awake underneath it. The girl’s breathing was deep and even, and an occasional noise that you would never get her to admit was a snore escaped every now and again.

The sun had simply been too warm and she had been too comfortable not to doze off for that ever-famous ‘five minutes’. It had probably been a quarter of an hour by now and she hadn’t stirred once. Perhaps she ought to have slept a bit more at night, rather than gallivanting about because she wanted to, or just because she could. Granted, Prefects and whatnot were often out, and she had gotten herself a detention more than a time or two, but detention wasn’t the end of the world. It was sort of like an initiation rite, almost, with the students; if you never got a detention, you didn’t know what you were missing. Well, aside from being free of oozing, pus filled things, or cleaning up an entire room in a night without magic. But after that, she supposed it was all gravy. After all, there was nothing extreme required of you in detention and it was usually only for one night, depending on the defense.

The girl let out another noise and turned a bit, her hat sliding off her face and exposing it to the sunlight. Blearily, Ive blinked and squinted, feeling just a smidge disoriented. Wasn’t she in her bed back in Sournis Dorms? That was a very stupid question, for it was clear she was not; the air smelled outdoorsy, and a brief look around once her eyes didn’t hurt at the sudden burst of light showed that she was, as a matter of fact, outside. Having propped herself up on her elbows, she took a look around, spotting a few stray students here and there intermingled with their group of friends, or perhaps with just one other student for a bit of chitchat time. Rubbing her eyes with a hand, Ive flopped back on her back and looked up at the sky, shielding her eyes from the sun. She liked her vision just fine, thanks, and burnt retinas weren’t exactly something she wanted. Chances were good that a brief glance wouldn’t do much damage, but why should one want to look at the sun anyhow? It wasn’t that nice to look at, even when clouds covered it and you could see a great ball in the sky.

Ivory shook her head at herself and let out a yawn, stretching her limbs until she felt her back crack. She snagged her hat from its place on the ground and brushed stray bits of grass from it – apparently, the lawns had been recently mowed, which meant she would have a green carpet attached to the back of her clothing when she decided to leave – and placed it back on her head. Her hair was down and quite a sight to see, though only for the reason that she’d been wearing a hat, had been sleeping, and had now decided to shove that hat back on her head. Knots, anyone? But she didn’t much mind it, at least not right now. After all, she wasn’t going to some extravagant gala and didn’t have to worry over appearances unless she really felt the need. And she didn’t really feel that need to worry. ‘Sides, she was still quite content to lay out in the sunshine for a little while longer, but only for a little while. She could only stay somewhere for so long without feeling the need to talk to someone. Perhaps someone she knew, or even someone she didn’t, would stroll along on their little outdoorsy trip?

She pondered this to herself and gave of a shrug, feeling the dampness in the shoulder of her shirt as she did so. The shrug probably gave her a bit of a grass stain on her shirt as well, but that’s why her whole outfit screamed ‘junk’. Jeans that had seen better days paired with a shirt that had seen better days. Didn’t really get much better than this.

Aden walked out into the courtyard taking a deep breath inhaling through his nose inhaling the sweet scent of the world right after rained. Aden could never really describe the scent, and he was not sure if anyone else smelt it, but he defiantly did. It was a sweet smell, but had a tangy undertone, now if Aden could possibly bottle the scent and wear it as a cologne and wash his clothes in it he would. This scent was absolutely his favorite, and he hoped that others could smell it too. No one had never brought the scent up in a conversation so Aden figured that no one else could smell it.

Aden took his strode down to the lake he figured that the scent would be greater down there, and after all as it was cold her mostly causing snow he did not get to relish in the scent that he found so addictive. He often contemplated moving to the American city of Seattle it was reported to rain there a lot. Aden just closed his eyes and let his instincts drive him down to the lake which he sought so desperately. For Aden the quest for this scent was more important than any quest for a good grade, or approval form his very overbearing parents.

Not paying attention Aden managed to trip over some girl. (Yikes short sorry I am not really in the rping mode but I knew I needed to post for you)

Post by Ginevra Malenki Mon Dec 07, 2009 2:29 am

Every single night was the same for Ginevra. She didn't exactly like going indoors, and when it was raining outdoors that didn't change her mind unless it was a need to take shelter because of some bizarre occurance. There was no where she felt safe, or even comfortable other than the one place she was currently sitting at: the lake, outside of the school she so unforunatley attended, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The lawns were all freshly cut and cozy, not overly itchy like some nights she would spend lying and looking up at the stars. All night she hadn't slept because of some other girl who had arrived, apparently not noticing her presense. It seemed that she had passed out early in the morning, soaking the sun that appeared just moments after she had stepped outside. She personally found it weird but Ginevra wasn't going to move just because someone was there- at least as long as the person stayed quiet. Right now all she could hear were birds cherping as morning had arisen quite fast. Smiling slightly, nature had to be the thing she could relate too most. Not bothering to use her eyes, she preferred to only use her sense of hearing to enjoy the sound that told her the day was new. It was a good way to start off mornings- peacefully.

Taking out her book, she yawned. You could call a girl crazy for not getting something was more than neccesary but there was just way too much on her mind for her eyes to shut and stay that way for hours on end. Having such a busy five-tracked mind, she rarely stopped thinking, resulting in the dark bags that were under her eyes. Doing what she did every morning though, a spell lightened them just so that she didn't look like a zombie from one of those horror movies muggles seemed to love; or at least her dad, he had loved them back in the day. Why? She wasn't sure- he had known that there was no such thing as zombies. Only vampires and werewolves, urg. Werewolves. Running a hand through her hair, she flipped to her page and began to read. Escaping from the real world was a habit of this blondes. She preferred to go into someone else's problems over her own anyday. Call her whatever you wanted but it was just easier and it wasn't often that this chicky took the easy root out. Hanging her head, she scanned her eyes over the words and turned the page over quietly one she had finished. The part that wasn't so fun about reading was the fact that Ginevra was a speed-reader and could get through books three times as fast as most of the people that attended the school she did. It had been this way since she was younger, and probably was one of the reasons leading to the choice in her house all those years ago.

Closing it up as she heard the girl who had fallen asleep on the other side of the tree she was behind awake, she shoved it in her bag, planning to get as far away from the place as she could. Ginevra wasn't really a people-person lately, she was way too moody for that. Most people couldn't take her moods, and she didn't want to make them have too. As far as she was concerned, having no one was better for her. Stopping though, once she saw another boy approching in the distance she would have gone too, she groaned. It was Aden Williams, the boy she had spoken too not that long ago. Their conversation had been cut short by someone interfetrring and she didn' feel like ending that conversation now. If he had wanted to answer her questions, he would have just came and found her. Whenever she was curious again was when she would just go search him out again. It seemed there was only one other option, besides being really rude and stomping away pass the girl who was close to her. Since she didn't enjoy being rude unless meaning too, Ginevra hung her bag over her right shoulder and stood up. Brushing grass off of her clothes, she walked over to where she was. Wearing a pair of black converses, Ginevra had on black skinny jeans and a grey shirt that clung to her body in flattering ways. Finishing the outfit off was a leather jacket that had belonged to her mother but was in quite good shape considering.

Clearing her throat, she put on her best smile and took a few steps towards the girl in question. Not turning towards Aden, this was the whole point she was acknowledging the girl now, unlike she had when she had first arrived. "Hi." she added, not sure if she should give her name. Deciding against it, the only way she would was if the girl wasn't some sort of B**** to her. It seemed that there were a lot of people like that at the school. The good thing was that she didn't seem like it from what Ginevra had observed. Moving her fingers through the bottom of her long blonde hair, it still smelled like strawberries despite the fact that she had been outside with the grasses aroma roaming around the air all around them. Doing it because she was, well, not sure what to expect, she wasn't uncomfortable or nervous- no, that was the furthest from what Ginevra got, but she was just.. unsure of what she was doing. That and playing with her hair was a habit she did even when reading. Waiting for a responce, she now stayed quiet.
