Karrit Gold is a fun-loving ghost, desperate to live life again. He is not happy in death. He is easily irritable when interrupted but generally very generous with his time since he has an infinite amount of it.

Gold can’t remember his family very well. He had two wizard parents, and a sister whom he often quarreled with. He now considers his family his staff and students of Hogwarts.

During his early, Karrit aided the Goblins as a spy. He would cast wizard curses at unsuspecting wizards under an invisibility cloak. He was an advocate for what most people consider to be ‘lesser creature’s’ rights. But instead of political advocation, he chose instead to go on the bloody offense along with the goblins. In his old life he started delving himself into charms works and had invented some of the most advanced defensive charms known to wizards. After his death, he had no family and no friends, having worked in solitude for much of his life. He came back as a ghost to continue in his own research and soon after regretted it. He decided that the best way to benefit wizard kind would be to educate the next generation about it. He became a Hogwarts ghost and after being so for three centuries, applied for a teaching job as he had wanted to for so long.

Professor Gold had been sitting in the classroom mentally preparing his lecture. He wished he still had tangible flesh so he could write instructions on the board, or notes for himself to look off of, but he was unable to. He did it in his mind, prepared for verbal lecture as he so often did, having to rely on nothing but memory. As the children entered the class he acknowledged them with a slight nod.
“Good day class.” He said warmly. Even though coming in contact with him would be icy cold, his personality remained human and warm.
“Today we will discussing different possible ways to make things fly.” He said, smiling.
