Mason smiled and took hold of Maddies hand. He followed her towards the library. "I don't mind coming along at all. You're not forcing me to come with you," he tried assure to the girl that he was coming along willingly.

Maddison's smile brightened when Mason reassured her that he was coming willingly. Hand in hand, the two of them walked towards the library in silence. Maddison's face was still slightly red from crying earlier, and she noticed that a lot of students were looking at her, some even whispering to their friends. The attention made her feel uncomfortable, and she quickened her pace, hoping to avoid any further stares.

Alex had been wandering around the castle, his mind consumed with thoughts of revenge against Maddison. He was still seething with anger at her for going to Professor Lupin and getting him a week's worth of detention. She deserved to pay, and he was determined to make her suffer. That was when he saw her with Mason, walking hand in hand. A wicked grin spread across his face as he approached the two of them.

"Well, well, well," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "What do we have here? The little love birds," he sneered, his eyes darting between Maddison and Mason. Maddison's face was red, as if she had been crying, and Mason looked sullen. Alex knew he had hit the jackpot - two birds with one stone.

Mason followed Maddie there and sighed. He hated all those eyes on them but he knew why. But he didn't say anything. When Alex was there the boy even sighed even more. He heard his words and just didn't know what the hell to do with him now. He wasn't really in the mood for him.

"When this dude will learn his lessons," he mumbled there now. He pushed Madde to be behind him now. And looked at Alex. "Can you just leave us alone already? You seriously don't want to mess with me again." He really knew if he got on his nerves this time he might actually hit him here in front of all these people. "Do you actually want to cause trouble here in front of all these people," he added.

Maddison was startled when Alex walked up to them, and Mason quickly moved in front of her protectively. Maddison whispered a warning to him, not wanting him to get into any more trouble. But she also knew that Mason was right; Alex was nothing but trouble and wasn't likely to let it go anytime soon. "He's not worth it," Maddison murmured, hoping to diffuse the situation before it escalated any further.

Alex rolled his eyes at Mason's defensive stance and dismissively said, "Oh, calm down, lover boy. I'm here for a good reason. I've been told I need to apologize to the girls in person." He smoothly lied, trying to ease Mason's anger. "Apparently, I was behaving inappropriately before, and Professor Lupin would like to send a letter to my parents." While the second part was true, Alex secretly hoped to cause a little bit of trouble and get under Mason's skin.

Mason looked at Maddie and nodded his head. "I know," he whispered back to her. He wasn't worth it. "Well sure you can aplogize to her but not in private. You can say simply these words here in front of everyone too," he said to the boy and looked at Maddie to see if she was okay with it.

Maddison emerged from behind Mason and took his hand, stepping between the two boys. She scrutinized Alex with a critical gaze, trying to discern whether his words held any sincerity. However, his expression gave nothing away. "If you're going to apologize, then do it," she challenged, although she had no intention of accepting any apology from him, whether he gave one or not. All she desired was for him to leave them alone. Her eyes remained narrowed as she studied the younger boy before her, sensing that something was amiss, but unable to identify what it was.

A smug expression spread across Alex's face as Maddison stepped out from behind Mason. This was precisely what he had been waiting for. With his wand hidden up his sleeve, he deftly retrieved it and uttered a single word: "Variāre." In an instant, Maddison's complexion turned a sickly shade of green, and her hair transformed into a vibrant purple. Alex couldn't contain his laughter at the sight of his handiwork. "Oh, Mads," he taunted, using the nickname that only Mason had ever called her. "You really are so naive."

Next on his list was Mason, and he couldn't wait to see the look on his face.

When Maddie stepped in front of her he was a bit worried about what would happen. When Alex used some unknown spell to him on Maddie he was shocked. He held Maddie in his arms. "What the heck dude?" he asked angrily. "Why the heck you do this to someone?" he asked again. This dude was sick. "Seriously you need help," he added. To be honest he was more worried about Maddie than this dude. He looked at Maddie and sighed. Her complex was green and hair purple, and even if it looked funny he was in no mood to laugh.

People around them were more in schock than actually laughing. "Some of you should go and call professore," Mason even ended up saying.
